Blue Hole National Park – Tropical Welcome

As the plane descends into Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport, the kids look out the window at the emerald trees encompassing east of Belize City. To the west, the indigo Caribbean Sea glints in the sunlight. Your private transfer meets the family at baggage claim after you disembark the plane. The tropical ambiance greets you outside of the airport. Palm trees rustle in the gentle breeze. The indulgent aroma of coconut drifts past. At the town of Belmopan, you turn onto the Hummingbird Highway. The thoroughfare travels more than 53 miles and remains the only highway in Belize that cuts through the mountains.

The family marvels at the beauty sweeping alongside the road. Your driver says Hummingbird Highway is the prettiest drive in the country. You believe it as you pass by orange groves and towering jade trees. The Maya Mountains roll along the horizon, creating interesting shapes. In the distance, you can see the sleeping giant, named for the way the mountains resembles a large person at rest. The van pulls into your accommodation near Blue Hole National Park. The entire family is excited to spend time in a luxurious room overlooking the jungle.

Belize Honeymoon Review: Stay on Private Island, Ambergris Caye, Drinks & Food, Relaxation & Dives

First, we want to say that our trip to Belize was exactly what we were hoping for! We reached out to Zicasso for help planning our honeymoon to Belize and were matched up with the travel agent at the travvel company.  We had envisioned a beach honeymoon that included relaxing on the beach but also scuba diving multiple times during the week.  We are also foodies and love to experience a countries cuisine via private dinners or cooking classes wherever we travel.  Our agent heard all of our requests and brought it to life for us.  It was a perfect combination of romantic and relaxing, while also being fun and adventurous at times. We spent 7 days total in Belize. The first portion was spent on a private island resort close to Dangriga.  We could only utilize a boat to get on and off the island.  We had one day of diving and the rest of the time was spent relaxing on the beach, drinking fruity drinks, and eating delicious food.  The resort was very welcoming and accommodating. Our final night on the island included a private dinner with the head chef of the resort.  That was certainly a highlight of the trip! This first leg of our trip was truly incredible and forced us to unwind and really detach ourselves from our hectic home lives and enjoy the moment in time that we had on this beautiful Caye. The second portion of the trip was spent on Ambergris Caye at another 5 star resort just outside of bustling San Pedro.  We stayed in a beach front cabana.  Having our front door open up to the sandy beach, with the ocean steps from our front door was breathtaking! The food and service at the resort were top notch and the diving excursions we had were something we will not ever forget. Throughout the trip the travel company was just an email or phone call away.  They checked in on us throughout the vacation making sure everything was going smoothly.  We constantly felt taken care of and that our happiness and satisfaction with our trip/experience were the most important thing to this travel agency.  We cannot recommend the travel agent and her affiliates enough if you are planning a trip to Belize. Everything service related (both by the agency and the resorts) was impeccable and executed seamlessly and took any and all travel related stress away.  When we go back to Belize we will be using the travel agency again!  Thank you so much for the amazing honeymoon and the fantastic memories we created while in Belize.

Belize Vacation Review: Mayan Ruins, Cave Canoeing, Ziplining, Diving, Blue Hole, 8 Nights

We had a great time on a trip to Belize in March 2024, planned by a Zicasso tour operator. He was great to work with from our first phone call. He had great ideas and suggestions, and pivoted well when we changed our minds about what we wanted to do.

He chose two excellent hotels, one in the jungle by the ruins and one on Ambergris Caye, that suited us to a T. He helped us choose excursions that allowed us to see everything we wanted to see and some things we didn't know we should see.

He was very accessible before and during the trip, answering questions and helping with whatever we needed. He also went above and beyond to make sure that two in our party were able to dive the Blue Hole (one of the main reasons we went to Belize) when the original trip was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances and that those who were snorkeling had an alternate tour. This was done in a matter of hours. He is definitely someone we would use again if we head back to Central America.

Belize Travel Review: Placencia, Ambergris Caye, Silk Cayes Marine Reserve, Snorkeling with Sea Life
The travel planner with the travel company planned the perfect beach vacation for us in Belize.  Our planner is very knowledgeable about the many options Belize has to offer.  We wanted a warm beach vacation and she picked two perfect places. Placencia, the town was fun to explore we could walk there on the beach or bike on the road.  The resort villas had Kayaks, Paddleboards, Bikes and Golf Carts.   We had a fantastic snorkeling excursion to the Silk Cayes.  The next stop was the Resort and Spa on Ambergris Caye, the resort was amazing! They also provided bikes, Kayaks, Paddleboards and Golf Carts for exploring the area.  We had two days of snorkeling where we saw sharks, star fish, barracuda, among the plentiful sea life there.  We chose Belize because they were testing for Covid 19 pre entry and felt that would be a safer environment.  And both hotels had testing before departure back to the U.S.It was stress free and our travel planner checked in on us daily, how can you beat that!

Belize Tropical Adventure Review: Ambergris Caye, Snorkeling, Food Tour, Animals, Hiking
Our travel planner was so helpful in planning our family's trip to Belize for Spring Break 2020.  And perhaps even more helpful when we decided to cut our vacation short and return to the US as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.  Hopefully we will be able to finish our trip in the jungle someday!  Ambergris Caye was a beautiful place with a lot to do.  Our travel planner worked with us to set up the perfect combination of organized trips and the travelers choice days.  We enjoyed getting to know the locals and loved the vibe.  We definitely will be back and use this travel company when we do!

Belize Travel Review: Snorkeling, Mayan Ruins, Cave Tubing, Local Cuisine, Private Tours, 1-Week Trip

It was a wonderful trip to a beautiful country with so much history, natural beauty, and, most of all, friendly people. Our experience was nothing short of magical and we have to thank our travel planner, Catarina.

From accommodations (in Ambergris Caye and in Belmopan) to tours to the guides to all the logistics, there were no hiccups at all. We had different family members arrive and depart at different times/days. Very happy that the travel agency was so thorough, from the initial planning until the end of our trip. They were extremely patient with all our requests and made sure they gave us many options to pick from.

And the food we had was beyond good. A big thanks for making sure we had great choices as vegetarians, including on the food tours customized for us and special orders for dinner entrée at our resort in Belmopan. We couldn't have asked for more. We highly recommend using them for planning a perfect Belize trip.

Belize Honeymoon Review: Snorkeling, Mayan History, Caracol Ruins, Caves, 1-Week Trip
We had a wonderful honeymoon experience!  We loved both resorts, especially the one in Blancaneaux!  It was the perfect balance of organized activities and downtime.  We loved learning more about the Mayan history of Belize with the Caricol tour; the caves were breathtaking.  The service and food at both places was amazing (we were so sad we waited until the last day to try Danny's Tree Bar at the resort in Ambergris Caye, because it was delicious), and we were especially touched by the final dinner at Blancaneaux.  It was really special to us that they set up a special honeymoon dinner!  Thank you so much for arranging everything, all of the transportation was seamless, and it was so nice to relax and not have to think on this honeymoon.  We could not thank you enough!
