Detailed Description
Belize has long gone under the radar, which has had a great impact on maintaining one of Latin America’s best-preserved landscapes. The rainforest is raw and wild here, dotted with the remains of old Maya civilization. Jaguars continue to roam as monkeys call from the treetops as rare birds gather around the rivers. It will not just be the individual sightings, as you immerse yourself in the rainforest and nature is with you at all hours of the day. There is more though, as the untouched rainforest is only one side of Belize’s nature. There is also the reef, the longest chain in the Northern Hemisphere a destination for increasingly intimate encounters. Sharks and rays are among the marine cast, providing a complement to days on the beach.
This luxury nature safari combines three exotic Belize destinations. You will spend the first week in the rainforest beginning with several nights in Chan Chich, Western Belize, and then several more at Punta Gorda in Southern Belize. Fly next to Ambergris Caye, a small islet surrounded by Belize Barrier Reef. Your final few days will combine adventure under the water with tranquility above it, including the famous Great Blue Hole along with the lesser-known gems of these Caribbean waters. Your three destinations are connected by light aircraft, so you will essentially travel from wilderness to wilderness to white beach, with nothing too urban interrupting the experience. Your accommodation has been specifically chosen to elevate the natural experience, including a lodge roused by monkey song on the site of an old Maya plaza.
Chan Chich is superb for rare wildlife spotting, with a nighttime safari your best chance of spotting cats like jaguars and ocelots. There is a great range of activities available ranging from canoeing to guided bird-watching, mountain biking, and sunset cruises. The next day, you will travel along the river to Lamanai, the mysterious Maya ruins in the heart of nature. Punta Gorda continues your customized wildlife experience. It is a wonderful place to see birds, and you will see where the rainforest meets the reef. Spend a day encountering Maya civilization, visiting sacrificial caves, the ruined city of Lubaantun, and a local Maya village. Once on Ambergris Caye, you can have a full day of snorkeling in a marine reserve, including some experiences with the Great Blue Hole, and lots of quiet time on the sand.

First, we want to say that our trip to Belize was exactly what we were hoping for! We reached out to Zicasso for help planning our honeymoon to Belize and were matched up with the travel agent at the travvel company. We had envisioned a beach honeymoon that included relaxing on the beach but also scuba diving multiple times during the week. We are also foodies and love to experience a countries cuisine via private dinners or cooking classes wherever we travel. Our agent heard all of our requests and brought it to life for us. It was a perfect combination of romantic and relaxing, while also being fun and adventurous at times. We spent 7 days total in Belize. The first portion was spent on a private island resort close to Dangriga. We could only utilize a boat to get on and off the island. We had one day of diving and the rest of the time was spent relaxing on the beach, drinking fruity drinks, and eating delicious food. The resort was very welcoming and accommodating. Our final night on the island included a private dinner with the head chef of the resort. That was certainly a highlight of the trip! This first leg of our trip was truly incredible and forced us to unwind and really detach ourselves from our hectic home lives and enjoy the moment in time that we had on this beautiful Caye. The second portion of the trip was spent on Ambergris Caye at another 5 star resort just outside of bustling San Pedro. We stayed in a beach front cabana. Having our front door open up to the sandy beach, with the ocean steps from our front door was breathtaking! The food and service at the resort were top notch and the diving excursions we had were something we will not ever forget. Throughout the trip the travel company was just an email or phone call away. They checked in on us throughout the vacation making sure everything was going smoothly. We constantly felt taken care of and that our happiness and satisfaction with our trip/experience were the most important thing to this travel agency. We cannot recommend the travel agent and her affiliates enough if you are planning a trip to Belize. Everything service related (both by the agency and the resorts) was impeccable and executed seamlessly and took any and all travel related stress away. When we go back to Belize we will be using the travel agency again! Thank you so much for the amazing honeymoon and the fantastic memories we created while in Belize.

It was a wonderful trip to a beautiful country with so much history, natural beauty, and, most of all, friendly people. Our experience was nothing short of magical and we have to thank our travel planner, Catarina.
From accommodations (in Ambergris Caye and in Belmopan) to tours to the guides to all the logistics, there were no hiccups at all. We had different family members arrive and depart at different times/days. Very happy that the travel agency was so thorough, from the initial planning until the end of our trip. They were extremely patient with all our requests and made sure they gave us many options to pick from.
And the food we had was beyond good. A big thanks for making sure we had great choices as vegetarians, including on the food tours customized for us and special orders for dinner entrée at our resort in Belmopan. We couldn't have asked for more. We highly recommend using them for planning a perfect Belize trip.

The trip to Belize was absolutely fantastic! We had an amazing time exploring Barton Creek Cave, Caracol, and Big Rock Falls at our first resort at the Blancaneaux Lodge. I highly recommend paying the extra money to book a flight to San Ignacio, Maya Flats, and having the shorter drive of 45 min - 1 hour instead of the long drive from Belize City to Blancaneaux Lodge which is 2 1/2 hours. The drive from the airport to the resort was a very hard drive due to the road being so rocky and not what you want to do after travelling for 8 hours.
Our second stop was at Victoria House on Ambergris Caye, this place was absolutely amazing as well. The food was fantastic at Blancaneaux Lodge and Victoria House! The people of Belize are so friendly and helpful and did not make you feel unsafe at all.
Our travel agency helped us book a flight from San Ignacio to San Pedro and were very receptive to emails/calls while we were in Belize. They are absolutely fantastic to work with and I would love to work with them in the future!
Your overall comments on Zicasso
I found out about zicasso through a google search because I was very unhappy with a local travel agent in Raleigh. Zicasso service was very helpful with travel agents that know the area best that you are visiting!
