South Africa, Botswana & Zimbabwe Luxury Travel Review: Cape Town, Kruger National Park, Okavango Delta, Wildlife, 2-Week Trip
Neil did an awesome job curating our 2-week trip. He helped us to minimize the travel time from Cape Town to our camp in Botswana (and onward to Zimbabwe and then back into Kruger Park area in SA).  Saw all the big animals in both Botswana and SA ... guides at "and Beyond" in Okavango Delta and in the game reserve in Sabi Sand respectfully were outstanding!

Review: Luxury Africa Safari, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Chobe Game Lodge, Lions Sands Ivory Lodge, Okavango Delta

WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING!

Making a Safari in Africa was on the top of my bucket list and I wanted to do it “in style”. We also wanted a company who was located in Africa and who had established a good infrastructure. We hoped to avoid delays between inter-camps on the small planes.

All this was fulfilled by this safari travel company. They designed a programme for us where we were eased into safari life beginning with Chobe Game Lodge, then onto our first tent experience at Xakanaxa, then onto Okavango delta area for a water and walking safari experience. Our agent then organsed our trip to Cape Town and a sojourn to Hermanus by private car and then flew us back to the stupendous Lions Sands Ivory Lodge in Kruger. Of special mention in Hermanus is the charming Ocean Eleven B&B. The location, room and the breakfast spread deserve special mention.

Throughout our trip, all accommodation was wonderful, staff, game wardens and trackers most knowledgeable and kind, all transfers seamless (so we didn’t miss any game drives), the private car service for the Cape experience was excellent .. and of course, the animals.

On Safari, one expects to see many animals. Well, in the 4 lodges/camps that we stayed, we saw elephants, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, jackal, spotted wild dogs, buffaloes, rhinos, impalas, kudus, sable, bush bucks, nyalas, waterbuck, wildebeest, giraffe, zebras, hippos, warthogs, baboons, small animals like banded mongoose, crocodiles and countless species of birds and the beautiful African frog. And then the whales in Hermanus

We stayed at : Chobe Game Lodge (3N), Xakanaxa Camp (2N), Okavango (Delta) Camp (2N) all in Botswana, Ocean Eleven B&B @ Hermanus (2N), Ivory Lodge, Lions Sands in Kruger, S.Africa (2N). We also had 3 nights in Cape Town and an over-nighter at Johannesburg.

We confidently recommend this company to anyone who is considering a Safari. On a scale of 1-5, we would give them the full 5 points.

Review: Africa Safari, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Chobe National Park, Okavango Delta, Cape Town, Victoria Falls

Absolutely awesome experience – better than we imagined! We spent time in Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta and Cape Town. The service, guides, lodgings and experiences we had in each location were exceptional. This safari travel company and our travel planner made everything easy – we were greeted each step of the way, enabling us to enjoy our African adventure without the normal stress of traveling in another country. In Zimbabwe, we experienced majestic Victoria Falls both from the air and a guided tour through the park. We enjoyed a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River. Our room at the Ilala Lodge was picture perfect and comfortable, plus we could see the mist rising from the falls. In Chobe National Park, we went on numerous game drives and boat tour with a dedicated guide. The Ngoma Safari Lodge was the most visually extravagant place we ever stayed.  The view walking into the lodge literally takes your breath away as you look down at the Chobe River with herds of zebras, giraffes and antelopes moving between a small watering hole close to Ngoma Lodge and the river. Combine that with great location to Chobe National Park, exceptional guides, thoughtful and well-trained staff, delicious dinners and wonderful rooms with incredible views and you have the perfect safari location. In the Okavango Delta we saw so much wildlife (inlcuding a numerous lions and African Wild dogs and their pups) and were again blessed with wonderful guides, great staff, and lovely rooms in an amazing location at Sable Alley in the Khwai Reserve. Cape Town gave us an opportunity to relax at the boutique hotel and enjoy winery tours and a peninsula tour, as well as amazing restaurants.

Originally, I tried to work out an itinerary myself using online review and travel books, but became concerned about arranging transportation and guides. Then I contacted several different travel agencies. This travel planner quickly responded. She made everything easy for us. She worked with us on locations, desired experiences, dates and cost. We really wanted to see Botswana’s Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta. Two other companies were trying to steer us away those areas due to cost and availability, but our travel planner was able to make it happen for us. She took care of absolutely everything from lodging, car and in-Africa air travel, tours, guides, and even restaurant reservations for us in Cape Town. Amazing personalized service.

This company makes you feel very pampered and special. Our travel planner made time to meet us in Victoria Falls (her home base). In honor of our 30th wedding anniversary, the travel company surprised us with a complimentary dinner and bottle of wine at our Victoria Falls hotel, which had one of the best restaurants in Victoria Falls.

Travel Review: Luxury Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, & Zimbabwe Africa Safari, Maasai Mara, Ngorongoro Crater, Victoria Falls
This travel company was the perfect choice for us. We wanted a custom made vacation focusing on the migrations and the wildlife, and we got it in spades from our very attentive specialist. No questions were too small for her to answer, and she responded very quickly, usually within one day. Our camps were situated so that we optimized our time. We even saw a migration across the Mara River right from our camp site, alligators and all. The camps were comfortable and because they were limited to just a few sites, (maybe 10 or 12) we felt catered to. We had the opportunity to photograph all of the big 5 animals in our first camp site, Entim in the Masa Mara. In Tanzania we witnessed a huge migration across the river. The views of the grassland savannah were amazing. Seeing the Crater in Tanzania was a nice respite since we stayed in a lodge. One day in the crater was just right to enjoy this unique environment. Even though it was the dry season Victoria Falls didn't disappoint. The Zambia side of the Falls was totally dry but our Zimbabwe viewpoint gave us the drama we were looking for. The Hotel held up to its reputation...pure British and elegant.  Kruger National Park gave us a different bushy savannah and the animal activity was exciting to see, like leopards dragging its prey up a tree for safety and wild dogs trying (and failing) to take down a zebra.

Luxury South Africa, Botswana & Zimbabwe Trip Review: Johannesburg, Victoria Falls, Cape Town, Tuk Tuk Soweto Tour, Safari
We started planning our African safari in July 2019 with stops in Johannesburg, Victoria Fall, Safari's in Botswana and 4 days at the end on Cape Town. After working with 2 companies referred by Zicasso, we decided to move forward with this travel agency. Sara and the travel team were fantastic to work with. After finalizing customized itinerary for our "July 2020" safari, we had to regroup due to Covid and travel concerns. Sara worked with us to postpone the trip to July 2022 and made sure that all of our deposits were protected. We regrouped in September 2021 and worked with Sara to fine tune the itinerary and travel dates. Throughout the planning, Sara and her staff were always available to answer our questions and make pivot with us as needed. When an internal airline went bankrupt, Sara was on top of it and made sure that alternative flights were arranged. When we needed to change our original hotel in Cape Town due to renovations, Sara got us rooms at another hotel (which was amazing). A week before our scheduled departure, Sara discovered that the jeep safari would not be available at one of the lodges due to high waters in the Okavango Delta. In 24-hours, she worked with us to rearrange our schedule to add an alternate lodge on the Botetit River where jeep safari's were available. The 3 lodges were fantastic and our guides were amazing. Our tours in South Africa were first class with great guides. We would definitely recommend that you use Sara and our travel company if you are planning a trip to Africa.

Travel Review: Africa Safari, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kruger National Park, Cape Town, Okavango Delta, Wine Tours

We booked, what we thought would be the trip of a lifetime.  It was so fabulous in reality, that we think we need to go again!  We had turned almost all of the trip over to our travel agency to plan for us, giving them only a minimal outline of what we would like to see.  They planned the trip and only with a few minor changes (e.g. add a day for a wine tour in the Cape) we booked.  Frankly, we were a little nervous about placing a high level of trust in a company we only knew via Zicasso and the internet, but it was trust well placed and rewarded.  Our trip consisted of 3 days at Cape Town, a few nights at Londolozi in Sabi Sands/Kruger, a day at Victoria Falls, a few days at Chobe Game Lodge on the Chobe River, a few days at Savute, and the last few days in the Okavango Delta at Xugana Island Lodge.  Almost 3 weeks in total. All logistics were seamless with no problems whatsoever despite numerous hand offs and transports.
