We had a tremendous week in Paris on a three generation family vacation. Our travel company put together an itinerary that not only included all the places we had asked to see as well as a few others, but also put considerable thought into how we would experience each one. Not only did we see the major sites but we had private guided tours at the Louvre, at Versailles, of La Marais, the Islands/Notre Dame, and at the Eiffel Tower which allowed us have a much more intimate experience because we could ask questions and discuss what we were seeing with guides that were very knowledgeable and personable. Beyond these private tours, our travel company also arranged a private boat cruise on the Seine River, a six course dinner on a glass enclosed double decker bus to see Paris at night, and a private macaroon baking class (so much fun). Our travel company also worked with me to find and reserve a couple of special dinners for the family, one at a Michelin star restaurant and the other at a restaurant on the 56th floor of a building overlooking Paris and the Eiffel Tower during its evening light show. We came back exhausted in the best way with wonderful memories of our family's first visit to Paris.
Our travel company was great to work with. The owner and her team listened to what we wanted to prioritize and our concerns and then came back with a draft itinerary that clearly showed they had paid attention and weren't just repackaging the last tour they put together. They were responsive and creative as we fine-tuned the itinerary. One example was in helping find the right hotel for our large party of seven. I had initially assumed we would target larger hotels and look for interconnecting rooms (7 people in our three generation family group but four were children) but quickly realized those options were very limited as European hotel rooms are considerably smaller than those in the US and rarely interconnected. The travel company came up with a creative solution by finding a boutique hotel where we could take four rooms that would be the entire floor of a small wing in the hotel, thereby giving us the privacy we were looking for since we had the whole floor of the wing. The hotel was perfectly situated on a quiet street but only two blocks over from a major retail area and the Seine River, just opposite the Louvre. We also especially liked that we had the same guides for multiple days, and so we got to know them. Also, we had the same driver for the entire week we were there. He was the first person we met after clearing customs when we arrived and the last one to see us off at the end of the trip. Each of these people had worked with this travel company for a while. Our agent and her company were very professional throughout. She was at the hotel when we arrived to meet us and give us an orientation of our week in Paris and was available throughout our stay. I would give this company the strongest recommendation if you are considering working with a local agent for a trip to France.

This summer, I traveled to Europe for the time with my Husband. This travel agent planned a wonderful trip for us and I must say that I am still in my vacation hangover! :) We visited Italy, Switzerland, and Paris.
Italy: I had THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE in Italy. We visited Venice, Florence, and Rome. Venice was indescribably romantic. Our hotel was hotel was located in the heart of the city so we covered the entire city by foot. We had a private tour guide and she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
After two days of stay in Venice, we next traveled by train to Florence, the fashion capital of Italy. On the first day, our agent had planned a private city tour for us. Our private tour guide was amazing! She told us about the city, best places to buy leather and best gelato place in Florence. Our hotel was strategically located. It was just 0.3 miles from the train station so we literally reached in 5 mins to our hotel. The next day was group tour to Ufizzi gallery and that's where we did not have a good time. The tour company was nice but the tour guide was not all that great. We received differential treatment there. I was not feeling well that day so instead of asking how I am doing, the guide asked my husband if we are done with our tour. WOW! I don't know if it was because of our color, race, or nationality.
The next day we went to explore the wilderness, the cypress-lined vineyards of Tuscany. We visited a small medieval town and then headed to wine tasting. There, we spent hours in lingering over a meal in the open air, had one of the best meals of our lives as the fresh ingredients were picked up from the market that day and the hosts were as gracious as your own grandmother. We truly enjoyed the glace of Italian culture there. The trip to Chianti was the best part of our entire journey.
The next day we traveled to the sun-washed city of Rome. We had a beautiful time there too.
Then We flew to Zurich. Our room was amazing and had a breathtaking view of the lake Lucerne with the city line of Lucerne. After two nights in Lucene, we then traveled to Lauterbrunnen. As they say, Switzerland is "Heaven on Earth" we actually did witness that heaven in Lauterbrunnen. The view of the valley of 72 waterfalls was incredible. Our hotel was located near the train station and the had a spectacular view from our room. Unfortunately, the hotel did not have any help available. Even for a glass of hot water, we had to climb up and down 3 floors, which was disappointing. Plus restaurants were super expensive and the food was terrible.
Then we went to Paris. Paris was again unforgettable. Because of our travel agent, we got to see the Batille's day parade and the gorgeous view of Eiffel tower in fireworks! That experience was unforgettable.
Overall, the trip was amazing. Our agent did put together an amazing itinerary for us and we had a time of our life there. Highly recommended!

Italy Family Vacation, September 2013
Doug put together a fantastic trip for our family. Our trip started in Venice and ended in Rome.
We also spent time in Florence, and the Amalfi Coast.
All of our hotels were wonderful absolutely wonderful, complete with transfers that were perfectly orchestrated to make our travels that much more enjoyable and care free! In fact, the entire trip ran like clock work. Doug even checked in via text to ensure our trip was running smoothly.
At each location not only were we welcomed as if we were family but everyone seemed to know Doug on a personal basis and ensured we had everything we needed and were having a great time.
Doug recommended tours in each location that were private and well thought out. Our docents and drivers were exceptionally knowledgeable in each venue.
We knew our itinerary was going to be non stop, yet Doug made it a point to arrange some quality downtime for us as well. The all day boat excursion to Capri and the coast was amazing. Mario his staff were great fun and made us feel like old friends.
Our family highly recommends Doug and this Italy travel company for a travel and experience that was nothing short of FIRST CLASS. His attention to detail far exceeded our expectations and made our first trip to Italy one of our most memorable trips that already has each of us longing to go back.
There is no doubt that we will certainly book our next trip to Italy (and any other locations that this company services) again!
Thanks again Doug for coordinating a trip itinerary to Italy that will forever be cherished as a "memory of a lifetime" for our family.
All the best,
Karen, Ted and Alexandra

Our agent did a wonderful job of interpreting the desires/requests for our trip to Italy this summer and developing our input into a wonderful itinerary, full of unique experiences. As a family we traveled to Venice, Florence, Tuscany and Rome, flying home through Paris. Our days were well structured and very active as we took in the private tours of art exhibits, local sights and city walking tours--yet, with enough free time for a couple more leisurely mornings and also opportunities to explore, shop or enjoy the hotel amenities and/or additional sights. The hotels in which we stayed were unique, each with a touch of the local flavor and easily within walking distance to nearby city sights, restaurants and entertainment districts We would definitely recommend working with this company for your Italy vacation planning--they have a wide range of options and great connections to local tour guides and setting up or recommending unique experiences for you.

Eric planned the perfect holiday in France. Our driver was waiting for us on arrival. Off to Normandy for our first three nights, with a quick stop at Monet's garden at Giverny. Our guide brought the water lilies to life. We checked in at an amazing five-star hotel. Do not miss either of their two Michelin-star restaurants. It's a short walk into Port-en-Bessin-Huppain, where you will find many restaurants. We spent two days exploring everything Normandy and World War 2 with an exceptional guide.
Paris did not disappoint. We hit the ground running. Eric arranged a tour of Paris by car. The evening dinner cruise on the River Seine was definitely a highlight of the trip, as were beautiful views of the city lit up at night, including the Eiffel Tower. I had no idea how beautiful the Palace and Gardens of Versailles are - the restaurant on-site by the lake with rowboats is wonderful. Of course, the guide matters - she was the best! If you're a foodie, make sure you schedule a cooking class with our chef. Shopping at the local markets is an adventure in itself. I've been able to recreate the meal back in the States.
We chose to explore the Champagne houses on this trip. Both were exceptional and yes, we brought home four bottles. In between houses, we had the most wonderful lunch with a champagne flight at Au 36 in Hautvillers. A trip to Paris would not be complete without visiting the Louvre and Orangerie museums. We completed our holiday with a flute of champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower!
Eric and the guides made perfect restaurant recommendations. I most definitely recommend him and the travel agency!
