Huge circles of stone fill the Sacred Valley, hypnotic from a distance and even more inspiring when you inspect the detail. Detailed Description

South America's three revered highlights are laced in the mystique of history. They're the places of myth and legend, locations that struggle to seem real as they dance before your eyes. Machu Picchu, a lost city, an ancient site seemingly left in perfect state for its people to return. Then the Amazon, where strange wildlife and atmospheric calls arrive from beneath a thick jungle awning. And the Galapagos Islands, exemplars of evolution and dramatic showcases of nature's historical theater. These three unique destinations combine on this handcrafted luxury tour. Five-star accommodation and private guides accompany you in Peru and Ecuador's Amazon, before four days on the luxury Yacht La Pinta take you sailing through the Galapagos. Then some additional treats wrap their charm around the itinerary, like the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the ancient city of Quito.

Take the train and then climb the hill and the first views of Machu Picchu come like a dream. The old Incan city stands perfectly preserved and on the first day you're wowed by how pristine it's been left. So return the next morning and soak up the detail, every street etched with the intimate detail of a forgotten culture. In Peru, you'll see more Incan ruins in the Sacred Valley and World Heritage Cusco. From here you fly to Ecuador and overnight in Quito, a UNESCO-designated city filled with odes to Spanish colonial times.

Now the Amazon, a short flight and a traditional canoe taking you beneath the thick green canopy. Settle into a luxury lodge and relax to the sound of strange birds tweeting from hidden branches. Private indigenous tribes create a program of activities, including meeting local communities, canoeing along mysterious rivers, hiking to lookout points, and discovering the eclectic wildlife of the trees. With the elegant lodge as your base, it's an easy and idyllic showcase of the jungle's tropical beauty. Return to Quito on day nine and overnight in a spa before your cruise begins.

Yacht La Pinta is one of the islands' finest luxury boats, offering space and comfort but also intimate encounters with the characters of the archipelago. Giant tortoises come first as you fly to San Cristobal, followed by sea lions sunbathing on white-sand beaches and marine iguanas nesting along cliffs. Visit the bird paradise of Punta Pitt, the only place on the island where you'll find all three booby species plus the magnificent frigate. Then enjoy a day exploring the sites of Espanola Island, with marine and land activities offering an iconic snapshot of what the Galapagos has to offer. Before returning home, there's a chance to stop at the Charles Darwin Research Center and see how evolution has shaped the shells of different tortoises. While these three world-famous destinations are popular for tourism, this handcrafted Machu Picchu, Amazon and Galapagos tour ensures you have your space to explore.

Peru Travel Review: Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Aguas Caliente, Puerto Maldonado, Sacred Valley, Amazon, Private Ruins Tours

We were extremely happy with every aspect of our trip to Peru and the outstanding assistance and support by Stuart, Satish and others at our Peru travel agency. We flew directly to Cusco and spent two nights there seeing the various sites in and around the city with a private guide, then a private guided tour to the Sacred Valley by van spending the night in Ollantaytambo. The next morning we took the train to Machu Picchu and had a private tour of the ruins followed by a stay in the wonderful Inkaterra MP Pueblo. The following day we took the train from Aguas Caliente to Cusco - a very pleasant and comfortable way to travel. The next morning we were off to the airport traveling to Puerto Maldonado for a three night stay in the Inkaterra Amazonica Reserva. We had wonderful guides with a special hats off to Jorge in Cusco and SV. Our MP guide was also excellent. We had terrific support getting around in all the locations and would highly recommend this travel company to not only our friends but to all who consider traveling to and about Peru!

Travel Review: Peru Family Vacation, Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Urubamba White Water Rafting, Mara Salt Mines

We just returned from a 10 day trip to Peru with 15 family members. Our agent worked with me to plan every detail of the trip.   Everything went according to schedule and without a single hitch!  Our agent lined up a trip to satisfy every single member in our group ages 71 to 10.  We will never forget this trip of a lifetime!  The trip was planned so that we could adjust to the elevation appropriately.  We started with 3 days, 2 nights in the Amazon jungle.  The resort we stayed at and the activities planned were awesome!  The food was good too.  The kids, ages 10-18 loved that part of the trip the best.  We moved on to the Sacred Valley for 4 days, day 1 full day touring at Pisac ruins, Ollantaytambo ruins, day 2 full day touring included Chincero weaving demonstration, Moray ruins & Mara salt mines, day 3 was horseback riding for 11 in our group and the other 4 went whitewater rafting on the Urubamba river, and day 4 was our trip to Machu Picchu.  We moved on to Cusco for 2 nights.  Our first full day in Cusco, we did a 1/2 day tour, and a late afternoon chocolate making event for 1 hour at the Choco Museo.  The next morning we left for Lima, spent 1 night in Lima and did a 1/2 day city tour.  We had the afternoon free and headed to the airport by 7:00 pm for our flights back to the U.S.  We were met by representatives at every location at the times stated.  All our tours were private for our group and the guides were awesome.  The food was so tasty throughout our trip.  Our agent made reservations in advance for our dinners.  Be flexible.  We are used to eating lunches around noon, but while touring, most lunches were around 2-3 pm in the afternoon.  We did have protein bars that we packed in our backpack.  Bonus item working with this agent....my husband had requested a surprise birthday cake for me at the restaurant in our Sacred Valley hotel. Our agent personally ordered a cake from a known bakery in Cusco and drove 1.5-2 hours to our hotel to personally deliver it with a nice birthday present!  That is going way above and beyond!  It was a pleasure meeting him in person!  I would not hesitate to recommend this agent and his company for any travel in South America!

South America Travel Review: Luxury Trip to Peru, Ecuador & Galapagos Islands, Rainforest, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Quito, Yacht
I don’t know where to begin. My husband and I travel a lot and had never been to South America. We decided we wanted to visit the Peruvian Amazon Rain Forrest, Machu Picchu and the Galápagos Islands. In researching, we came in contact with our travel designer with this tour company. We corresponded over days/weeks.  I gave the designer the basics of what we were looking to do and see. The travel designer took my suggestions and came up with the ideal tour. We started out three nights in the Amazon Rain Forrest with a wonderful lodge. Very remote inside the Forrest. We loved the open wall design. We could see monkeys and other wildlife right room the open room. Our tour guide was the best! Then we traveled to Cusco Peru. There we had a terrific guide. Our guide was a local guide. His knowledge and kindness was priceless. Our guide took us on the trek across the mountain into Machu Picchu. This was a very difficult trek, we had moments wondering if we were going to make it to Machu Picchu. Our guide was very patient with my husband and I. We are 61 and 73 and from US. High altitude acclimations are very important. We did make it after about 8 + hours. We stayed several nights in a wonderful resort in Machu Picchu Pueblo. We travel backed to Cusco and stayed 4 nights in a luxury hotel. Our guide took us daily on tours of ruins and historic sites . We then traveled to QUITO Ecuador. Our tour guide in Quito was a local guide too. His knowledge of the area was priceless as well. Our last week the designer planned the 8 day 7 night on a small yacht to tour the Galápagos Islands. We couldn’t hand picked a better yacht to explore the Galápagos Islands. The staff was knowledgeable and the yacht was perfect. Our naturalist was the best! His enthusiasm was contagious and we learned so much. The food was delicious. The accommodations were great. The entire trip was planned perfectly. The travel designer had every detail planned perfectly, from transfers to guides, to accommodations. We were gone three weeks. Before our trip, I had many questions. The designer was always quick to reply and answered every question or concern I had. Anytime in the future, I plan to travel to South America, I will use the travel designer and this tour company. The travel designer is a real Jewel!

South American Travel Review: Luxury Tour of Peru, Ecuador & The Galapagos, Lima, Quito, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Sun Gate

We had a wonderful time on out recent vacation with our travel agency to Peru and Ecuador. The Sacred Valley is amazing. Those Incans really knew how to build. We were met by guides at the airports in Lima and Cusco. Natalie showed is the Sacred Valley and was very knowledgeable. We had a guide on our hike on the Incan Trail from mile 104 to the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu. He was an excellent guide. He, also, was really informative.  He kept a very reasonable pace.

Then we flew to Quito where we were met by our guides. We spent the next week exploring the highlands of Ecuador with them. It was a pleasure getting to know our guides and their culture.  They took us to several cities, some Incan ruins, and the equator. We drove to Guayaquil on the coast for our flight to the Galapagos.

There we stayed on a catamaran and sailed to many islands in the Galapagos. We snorkeled, hiked, kayaked, and rode in zodiaks exploring the flora and the fauna. The staff on the catamaran saw to our every need. The food was delicious, the ship was spotless, and the staff was friendly and courteous.

Our South America travel agency made sure we were taken care of and had a wonderful trip.
