Lively India

The vibrancy of India is immediately apparent upon your arrival in Delhi. The air is scented with chai, a vivacious cacophony seems to lure you through the city, and the vivid colors of the culture come to life from the very clothes the people wear; flowing scarves drift softly in the breeze as the men and women walk by. A private transfer will have you at your accommodation ready to step into the endless energy of the city and of India. The history and culture abound as you see the India Gate rising from the wide street, where people walk through as a part of their daily lives. The over 135 foot tall monument stretches 30 feet wide and was built as a war memorial in 1931, where a flame flickers to honor soldiers of the past and present. In the evening the aromas of fresh chapati, an oven baked flatbread, begins to drift along the streets and call you into a comfortable first night in India.

Review: Luxury Trip to India, Rajasthan, Jaipur, Delhi, Jodhpur, Jaiselmer, Mt Abu

My wife and I have been to India several times but we wanted to use a specialist this time to plan our trip to certain parts of Rajasthan. Through Zicasso, we were put in touch with this travel agent. She was great in helping to plan our trip to Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and then transport to Mt. Abu where we were on a spiritual retreat.  We got a detailed itinerary of how we would be proceeding from place and place and it was a great balance between seeing the important sites as well as resting and spending time at the wonderful hotels and resorts we were booked at.  From start to finish, they did a very professional job as there was someone to greet us at the hotel to give us a welcome as well as the very well informed and excellent English speaking guides in each city.  We were also given a phone and contact numbers of different personnel in here company in each city we visited so we had any problems, we could always talk to someone 24/7.  It was also a very nice surprise when we got to each our hotel rooms, the the receptionist let us know that our rooms were upgraded upon arrival. That was a very nice and pleasant surprise.

Our driver was also very good and he spoke English to the extent we could communicate what we needed to. Our airport transfers were seamless and it was as if everything was taken care of ahead of time. When we flew to Jaipur from New Delhi, someone help us at the airport counter to check our bags and our boarding passes were already there for us as we entered the airport.

Overall, just a fantastic experience in a country that has been historically known for delays and lack of attention to certain details.  We felt like royalty the way we were treated and handled along every step.

India Luxury Vacation Review, Jaipur & Udaipur, Monkey Temple, Jantar Mantar, Lakes, Palaces, Markets & Cuisine
Thank you and everyone at this travel company for our tour of Jaipur and Udaipur.  You have renewed my faith in travel in India.  The hotels were fabulous!  The hotel in Jaipur was so relaxing and had everything we needed.  What stunning sunrise and sunset views and architecture!  I healed all my bug bites from staying with family!  The food was a nice variety of Indian dishes and European fare.  We loved the free puppet show each evening.  Our tour guide, was flexible, informed and moved at our pace.  We so enjoyed his walking us through the markets and guiding us as we tasted local street food.  Our driver was great - always on time, smooth and knowledgeable.  Jaipur was beautiful and so clean compared to other cities.  Amber Palace was lovely.  We enjoyed the temple with all the monkeys and the rooftop restaurant in Jaipur.  Our day at the city palace and Jantar Mantir was fascinating.  Our guide helped us find a couple items we were looking for.  The sales techniques are offensive but we are happy with our purchases.  In Udaipur we stayed in a modern palace.  The hotel is pretty far from the city and everything else but stunningly beautiful.  I would not put people in this hotel who are over 60 as the stairs are daunting.  The views are amazing and there are hiking trails around the area.  The rooms are palatial.  We found the food to be less than at its best (a bit stale and fruit and yoghurt past their prime).  Dining outside with spectacular views helped.  We missed the temple on our first day due to flight delay but our guide, created an addition of two local temples which were quite fascinating.  The boat ride was gorgeous, the city palace, local Vishnu temple and evening cultural performance were lovely.  We had asked to not be taken to any sales sites unless requested and we were taken to an Art School which was somewhat interesting but we would rather not have gone.  The lakeside restaurant was great with wonderful food.  Again our highlight was walking through the local markets and neighborhoods. Our driver was great.  I felt he always had an eye out for our welfare. These two cities were much more comfortable to our family from the Pacific NW.  We needed lessons on how to use the TVs in the hotels.  The large touring buses kept us up above the traffic with easy access for photos.  There was lots of room for each of us, our stuff and the guides. We faced another flight delay leaving Udaipur but that's not your fault.  All in all, Zicasso again has made this trip spectacular.  We feel supported and yet free.  Thank you!All of the people at this travel company were great communicators and great resources. We'll be back!Thank you all!Mary and C. S.

Travel Review: Luxury Tour of India & Bhutan, Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Varanasi, Agra, Udaipur, Chhatra Sagar, Taj Mahal

This travel agent did a great job from the first day we communicated though to the end of our trip.  All was executed as agreed to.  Her recommendations, guides, useful travel notes helped make our trip so memorable.  We traveled to Mumbai, Varanasi, Sarnath, Agra, Jaipur, Chhatra Sagar, Udaipur, and Delhi.  We had the perfect timing to participate in the Diwali Festival in Udaipur which was colorful and wonderful to see the local customs surrounding this event.  We then traveled onto Bhutan.  Sitting on the Northern side of the flight from Delhi to Thimphu gave us a birds eye view of Mount Everest - spectacular!!  The food on the trip was over the top wonderful.  The drivers & tour guides our travel agent arranged were top notch, polite and friendly - all our needs were and more.  We stayed at all 5 star hotels which was the only way to go - we should have scheduled more time to take in this one of a kind worldly hotels.

India Trip Review: Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Safari, Kayaking, Horseback Riding, Hiking, Culture, Wildlife, 60 Nights

Zicasso's travel specialist did an amazing job of selecting locations and properties in rural areas that perfectly suited me. I loved the tented camps and safari lodges, visiting rural villages and schools, kayaking, horseback riding, walking, and enjoying cultural activities.

I selected two resorts and they were everything I hoped they would be, with fabulous service and wonderful experiences. The travel agent selected four other hotels and they were everything I hoped for as well. I loved them all, but especially the one in Jawai Bandh, which may have been my favorite spot on the trip. The service was spectacular, with great leopard spotting, guides, and butlers.

I really wasn’t keen on the cities. I was sick in Delhi and stayed in my hotel, and quickly went through Jaipur. Two hours there was enough. Udaipur was the best of the three. I especially liked my hike there. The hotel in Udaipur was OK, but there were a lot of pigeons making a noise around the rooms.

Luxury Family Trip Review: India, Desert Stay & Camel Safari, Surfing Sand Dunes, Taj Mahal, History, Beauty & Scenery
We just spent a most memorable two week family vacation in India (which included my two kids, 8 and 11 years old) -- many thanks to this tour company. We give them our highest recommendation to anyone looking to spend time in India. We felt completely taken care of -- start to finish; every question we had before and during the trip was handled with immediate attention. We visited six different cities and had a different local expert guide assigned to us in each. They were each fabulous -- knowledgeable, communicative, pleasant, personable, responsive.  We couldn't have asked for any better (or nicer) people provide us with a complete soup to nuts tour of each location, including the in depth history of each site.  Each guide was appealing to us adults and the children.  We had several particular travel requests, including wanting to maximize every minute of our time together (which was a particular challenge especially considering the locations we wanted to visit were long distances apart) as well as logistical challenges with my husband having to conduct some business meetings during our stay in the desert where internet access was limited.  Also, given the Delhi smog, we encountered many plane delays that could have taken our vacation off course completely.  But this company handled everything. They provided my husband with multiple options to ensure that he could handle his calls from the desert AND they kept us informed of every plane delay and did whatever was necessary to tweak our itinerary to be sure to include EVERYTHING despite whatever delays were encountered.  We also had different requests along the way, all of which were accommodated (e.g. speaking with past guides to ask questions missed or being taken to certain stores recommended to us by friends).  No request was too small or too large. Every request was handled well and no stone left unturned. The company's home office was impressive.  They were in constant communication with the guides and everyone was on the same page, always.  They really didn't miss a beat. Each guide also was terrific at managing time and fitting in everything, including whatever specific requests we had despite the time squeeze.  When we found ourselves in FREEZING weather in Jaislamer unexpectedly, our guide provided us with BLANKETS for each of us to wrap around ourselves as he took us through the fort. This is one of many examples of each guide making  us comfortable in every away and really going above and beyond. My husband and I have traveled the world . . . and we not easy customers too impress. . .But this tour company impressed us both. I would highly recommend them to ANYONE.
