Delhi - The Royal Welcome

Welcome to the gateway of grandeur. Delhi is a city that is filled with a spellbinding energy that emanates from its over one thousand years of history. The modern suburbs and cityscape shows you the contemporary power and wealth of the nation’s capital. Tucked away in hidden corners, or standing tall in lush parks, you will find ruins and temples, remnants of the Mughal Empire and ancient walls that encompass a continuously thriving market. You are met at the airport by a private transfer and escorted to the Imperial Hotel in the heart of the city. The marble floors in the gallery sparkle and the high ceilings provide spacious comfort. The combination of savory and sweet spices is captivating. The India Gate stands proud as a memorial to past soldiers of the British Indian Army that fought in World War I. It was unveiled in 1931 and stands over 137 feet tall. In the fading daylight the stone edifice glitters like gold and welcomes you to India.

Review: Luxury Mother-Son Trip to India, Jaipur, Udaipur, Mumbai, Agra, Delhi, Ranthambore National Park, Chand Baori

My adult son and I just returned from a 12 day trip to India arranged by this travel agent.

New Delhi - Agra - Fatehpur Sikiri - Chand Baori - Ranthambore National Park - Jaipur - Jodhpur - Jain Temples at Ranakpur - Udaipur - Mumbai

I requested the step well, Chand Baori.  It should be on all tours driving the road between Agra and Jaipur.  It's not far off the main road and well worth the short detour.

We were met by tour reps at every stop, every train station, and every airport.  Someone was always there to either meet us upon arrival or to see us off.  The guides were all very good and the drivers were excellent.

This agent planned our trip from start to finish and we had a wonderful time.  I'm returning to India next year and she is now making all the necessary arrangements for what will be a  much longer trip.  There's  so more much I want to see.

Travel Review: Tour of India & Nepal, Kathmandu, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi, Agra, Amber Fort Elephant Tour, Desert Camel Safari

The trip was superb.

This travel agency was very professional. Representatives were in contact with us throughout our trip to ensure that we were completely satisfied with the guides, hotels, itinerary and the service.  Our driver was exceptional.  We were very relaxed and comfortable throughout the trip. The guides in each city were very knowledgeable and helpful.  Many of the hotels recommended were very luxurious and our dining experience was very good.

The itinerary gave us an opportunity to visit and experience many historic sites. The artistry and craftsmanship of the temples, monuments, palaces and forts were truly magnificent. We had intimate walks through villages and local markets, experiencing the day-to-day life in India and Nepal.

We enjoyed a cycle rickshaw ride in Delhi,  a tonga ride in Agra, an elephant ride to the Amber Fort, a desert camel safari in Jaisalmer, and a Zipline Tour at the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur. All these activities were recommended by our travel agent as we were planning our trip.

We were very enthusiastic with this trip, and have recommended Zicasso and this travel company to a number of our friends.

Travel Review: Luxury Tour of India, Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Agra, Ranthambore National Park, Thar Desert, Taj Mahal

Our trip to India was everything we hoped it would be and more.  Our travel agency did a fantastic job planning the trip with us and making sure everything went smoothly.  First, the owner listened to us.  She has traveled extensively in India and knows a great deal about the country, from hotel options, to restaurants, to sights to see, both well-known and off the beaten track.  She has her own opinions, that she is willing to share to help her clients plan, but most importantly she listened to us, worked to understand the type of travelers we are, and tailored a trip that worked perfectly for us.  She willingly adjusted the itinerary and discussed options with us to be sure we were seeing what we wanted to see.  Her in-country colleagues handled things on the ground seamlessly - from recognizing us at the airport at 2:30 in the morning, to making sure our check-ins and check-outs at each hotel went smoothly, to arranging each pick-up and drop-off at the time we wanted, to making dinner reservations for us.  Our driver was wonderful and felt like part of the family.  We have worked with many agencies, and this company is at the top of the list - for knowledge, for flexibility, for creativity, for responsiveness, and for service.

As for India - it is a place everyone should visit.  Our trip took us to Delhi, Agra, Ranthambore Park, Jaipur, the Thar Desert, Jodhpur and Udaipur.  The sights were beyond incredible (yes the Taj Mahal is the most beautiful building in the world, and yes, there are few things more exhilarating than a wild tiger six feet from your jeep), and the people of India are warm and welcoming and have mastered the art of the service industry.  Because of her connections, our agent added some marvelous things to the trip, like dinner with the proprietors of a small hotel who shared their fascinating opinions after a cooking lesson and a visit to a block printing artist at his home in Udaipur.  We loved our trip!!!

India Luxury Family Trip Review: Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Temples, Tiger Reserve, Local Cuisine & History
When using the Zicasso website to enquire about booking our holiday in India, our travel planner from this tour company was referred to us.Everything on our holiday was very capably organised by our planner, including our private driver for our trip and the local guides and representatives at each city. The travel planner even provided a phone for us to use whilst in India so that we could contact him if ever we needed to.

We gave an outline of the cities we wanted to visit and requested a specific brand of hotels in New Delhi, Agra, Ranthambhore, Jaipur and Udaipur and a Palace in Jodhpur be booked for our visit. One other specific request our planner organised for us was to lunch at a Lodge under the Banyan tree, which is located in the countryside outside Jodhpur – this was a fabulous experience which I can highly recommend.

Our travel planner organised our driver for our entire trip around Rajasthan. Our driver was excellent.  As my sister and I were travelling with our elderly mother who was 86 at the time, we were concerned about travelling in India. Our driver is a very safe and careful driver. His English is extremely good and he cared for our safety. Any fears that we may have had before coming to India about the driving and getting about were totally removed through our driver’s professional and caring approach to us. When we were without a local guide, our driver was also very knowledgeable in providing us information about India’s history and customs.

We were also very happy with the local guides the planner organised to take us around their cities- Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur and our guide when travelling to and visiting the Ranakpur Temple. All these guides were very knowledgeable, charming and professional. Our travel planner also booked our safari trips to the Tiger reserves in Ranthambhore. Our safari drivers and guides were very good.

We left India feeling very satisfied with all the arrangements made for us by our travel planner of this tour company and can recommend him to you.

India Travel Review: Agra, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur

Our recent trip to India will always be remembered as the happiest three weeks of our lives thanks to everyone at the India travel company that we used. The professional and personal attention we received from our first contact, during the planning stages and during our entire stay was beyond any hope or expectation. Arriving and departing from Delhi, we visited Agra, Ranthambore, Jaipur, Jodphur and Udaipur, covering great distances within Rajasthan. We traveled with confidence and comfort in the company of an extraordinary gentleman, who we met as our driver and left as our friend.  Each day was an adventure led by the same local representative for that area, all of whom have worked for them many years. Degreed historians and patient, good natured ambassadors to Indian culture, they were remarkable hosts and companions who contributed greatly our trip of a lifetime.  Staying at some of the finest luxury properties in India with the advantage of our association with the travel company, we were offered every possible courtesy and consideration and were able to enjoy the "down time" we had built into our itinerary.

While this was our first trip to India, it will not be our last and we can't imagine doing it without this tour company.

Luxury Trip to India Review: Jain Temple, Sunset Dinner on Dunes in Jaisalmer, Ranthambore National Park, Bird Sanctuary, History

When we first started planning our trip, we were unsure as to what to expect. We asked Zicasso for recommendations on a travel agent for Rajasthan, India. We were contacted by the trip planner of this travel company.

After taking time to discuss what we might expect to see, our planner recommended an itinerary that would allow us to sample a cross-section of Rajasthan as well as learn some of the history and culture. He suggested that we visit during Diwali, a fantastic experience, and that the end of October and early November would be ideal weather-wise, which it was.

Our itinerary included exploring New Delhi, seeing the Taj Mahal, visiting multiple cities, riding camels and elephants, staying in luxurious hotels, tents in Jaisalmer desert (we stayed in a Camp Relais & Chateaux, an indescribable, wow experience), and a repurposed feudal lord's home which offered character and flavor galore. We were accompanied by one guide, an exceptional, articulate young man, and mostly one driver, and this constancy made the trip much smoother. The trip planner tries to pair personalities, and he did a great job here, which clearly points out the personal attention we received.

Our trip ended with dinner at the planner's home, with his wife and sister-in-law graciously cooking a wonderful Indian meal for us. It was a very special evening for which we are grateful.

We strongly recommend the trip planner and this travel company. Start with their website and contact them for ideas if you are on your way to India.
