You will taste the different flavors as they come to life on your tongue and explore the backstage craft of the culinary hubs of the Basque Country, Asturias, and Galicia. You will begin day one in the Basque Country, which is said to possess some of the most delicious foods in the world. You will also explore the world-class culinary scene in San Sebastian, which is a city that emphasizes eating well before other expenditures. Here, you will dine and sip down wine like a true local at a Michelin star restaurant. The following day, you will receive a private tour of the city’s best pintxos, which are the delectable appetizers in which this seaside city specializes. A private car will then take you to the famed city of Pamplona where the running of the bulls festival is synonymous with the city’s celebratory ideals. You will then receive a tour of the town and stop along Ernest Hemingway vestiges.
On your fourth day, you will arrive in the country’s prized La Rioja region, which is Spain’s leading wine producing valley. First, the service provided by this Spain travel company and in particular, our agent was absolutely the best! Our agent planned our itinerary, and coordinated the hotels, drivers, flight, train, and any excursions we wanted. This was our dream trip to Northern Spain and our agent handled all of the details with perfection! We could not have planned this ourselves. Every single part of our vacation was professional and perfect. In the future, whenever I travel to Spain, I am immediately contacting this company and this agent to take care of everything from start to finish. Do not hesitate to use this company. I found them through Zicasso and in the future I will also use Zicasso for travel outside the USA.
Secondly, our trip...We wanted to visit Northern Spain to see the areas where my great great grandparents and ancestors lived. We flew to Madrid, then took a train to Rioja and stayed in Elciego during the wine grape harvest and crushing of the grapes. We then had a private driver take us to San Sebastian, where we stayed on the beach for two days and enjoyed the Bay of Biscay and delicious sea food. We then had a private driver take us to Santander, then to Oviedo and then to Santiago de Compostela. Each of these cities and the areas along the Northern Coast of Spain are incredible and unique. We flew back to Madrid from Santiago. I can highly recommend this itinerary for anyone traveling to Northern Spain! It was so filled and packed with history, food, wine, and scenery that we are still absorbing and processing it even after we returned home. Every detail was carefully planned by this company and our agent! Muchas gracias for a fabulous fabulous vacation and for fulfilling our dream of travel in Northern Spain!!!

Our family of four (with boys ages 16 and 13) felt extremely satisfied with our two-week adventure through Northern Spain (Santiago de Compostela/Galicia, Oviedo, San Sebastian/Bilbao), Barcelona, and a slice of Madrid. We cannot rave enough about the travel agency we worked with for planning this trip. From the very start, they were very open to crafting an experience tailored to our interests and needs. Initially we spoke by phone and then continued the planning through email exchanges until a finalized itinerary was agreed upon. Once in Spain, the agency continued to be in touch with us to confirm details such as driver information and make sure things were going well. They planned seamless transitions between cities/regions, whether by plane, train or car. Very professional drivers collected us from and took us to airports--some of them were quite entertaining and sources of great travel advice. We were also quite happy with all the hotels our agency booked for us with respect to comfort and desired amenities. Finally, the private guides our agency arranged for us were FANTASTIC---they were very expert, friendly and professional. They each taught us so much about their city's/region's history and gave great tips for navigating the area on our own. Through these guides, we were provided a unique lens into the culture of the region we were exploring.

We had a really great vacation in spain. We are active group of 4 60 somethings from the US. We selected our itinerary with our Spain travel agent's help. We had 2 wk and we wanted to "see" and "taste" spain.. appreciating its culture, history, art. We wanted a well organized tour, customized around our interests.
We landed in Barcelona, were met w/ our driver at the airport, had guides for walking tours of the cities and 2 for eating tours in Sevilla and San Sebastien. They were wonderful.. informative and an oppty to talk about life in Spain today . We traveled by plane over big distances ( barcelona to grenada; sevilla to bilbao) and train from san sebastian to madrid.. a relaxing 5 hr view of the country . We used audioguides for most museums, but would have preferred a guide especially for the Prado which is enormous and confusing in layout. . The city guides were well educated locals for the most part.. the food guides were especially helpful and fun and let us to tastes and places we could not find on our own. We rented a car to explore the countryside in the north, but it proved to be a very bad idea ( which i take responsiblity for).. GPS was not much help when all the names are foreign and the maps do not extend across borders.. so if you rent a car, bring detailed maps and a navigator ( not the driver). Or get a driver which is what our agent recommended and we declined, thinking it would be a way of saving $$.
Based on our budget we had nice charming hotels centrally located that included breakfast. One meal a day was generally included in very good restaurants that simply brought us food ( we rarely ordered off the menu)The food and wines were excellent..all were unique--in some it was their charm, in others the food and in others the view. We did not have a bad meal in spain.. and when it was less than great, it was usually our doing.
Invariably in a such a trip there are a few mishaps.. but they were addressed by our travel agency's most helpful staff member--- who made himself available full time by cell phone. Our final interary with tickets were to arrive at our first apt .. but were delayed a few days.. Our agent was on it and the courier co. was made aware of the urgency and came thru and no harm or delays resulted
One restaurant misunderstood about our prepaid arrangements, and sat us in their restaurant instead of the bar ( it was supposed to be tapas).. once we paid the bill and i contacted our agent, the restaurant refunded the $$ we paid and accepted the prepaid price and apologized.
The only concern i had up front turned out to be unfounded. I was worried about dealing with a foreign travel company and paying for the trip in cash in full 60 prior . It was helpful to me to talk to another American couple who had just returned from their trip, and they provided the reassurance I needed. We are happy to provide such similar references if needed.
We can't say enough good things about our Spain travel agency.. they read us completely correctly and they delivered on the tour we wanted.. our expectations were exceeded in almost every aspect of the trip and we'd do it again this company.

The trip met all of my expectations for ease and comfort. My travel agency did an especially terrific job of arranging my Santiago de Compostela Camino in concert with their local tour company. The travel agent was able to plan a trip that took into consideration all my requests and needs. Transportation to and from the airport, stages of the Camino and luggage transfer was flawless. The accomodations, food and overall care were excellent. Several times on the road when I wanted to change my itinerary or needed something I called the tour company and was taken care of immediately. I was traveling on my own and always felt safe and well cared for. Barcelona and Madrid accomodations were well situated for ease of getting to major attractions, clean, safe and had great buffet breakfasts. I can highly recommend both agencies.
