Travel Review: Spain Vacation, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada, Toledo, Cordoba, Mosque of Cordoba, Alhambra, 13-Day Trip
The travel company set up a perfectly planned itinerary for our trip to Spain. My travel specialist & I spoke on the phone before the planning & he listened to where I wanted to go & what I wanted to see. I probably would not have included Toledo or Cordoba but so glad both of these cities were included as day trips as each one had amazing architecture and history. Our guide in Cordoba was a walking, talking encyclopedia. Our visit with him to Mezquita de Cordoba was so impressive and his extensive knowledge of the history of this famous Mosque-Cathedral kept us tuned in. He commented that travelers who were not using guides did not know what they were missing. I agree 100%. Just a little bit about the private transportation, guides & rail arrangements. Wherever we were to meet a driver they were always there before we arrived. Professional, cordial & English speaking, each one a pleasure to meet. Our guides were all so knowledgeable and made note of things we would have missed without them. Our other guide took us through Toledo & Madrid when she pointed out the Cardinals hats hanging above the tombs in the Toledo Cathedral I was amazed, that was a first for me & probably would have missed it. Seville was a lovely city, easy to get lost all thewinding remote streets. I would advise to stay central or in the Triana district. Granada! I'm under your spell.....My granddaughter, age 26 & I fell in love with Granada. Warm ,friendly, Alhambra, Sierra Nevada mountains & the Albaicin district a truly beautiful city. We wish we were there longer and would love to go back. Our final stop was Barcelona and it did not disappoint. Our Hotel was the perfect location and we felt safe when on our own. We were within a block of Passeig de Gracia the famous high end shopping district. We had four full days and did see everything we planned to see, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Gaudi's Casa Batillo, Picasso Museum, Magic Fountain & more. The food and hospitality was excellent in each city. Spain is not lacking for restaurants. Our two week trip was well planned and yet relaxing.I want to personally thank our travel specialist from the travel company for checking in each day asking if everything was ok and providing the names and numbers of the drivers & guides. Did this trip meet our expectations? For Sure.

Travel Review: Luxury Family Tour of Spain, Barcelona, Madrid, Santiago, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Guggenheim, Reina Sofia, Hiking

Our family of four (with boys ages 16 and 13) felt extremely satisfied with our two-week adventure through Northern Spain (Santiago de Compostela/Galicia, Oviedo, San Sebastian/Bilbao), Barcelona, and a slice of Madrid.  We cannot rave enough about the travel agency we worked with for planning this trip.  From the very start, they were very open to crafting an experience tailored to our interests and needs.  Initially we spoke by phone and then continued the planning through email exchanges until a finalized itinerary was agreed upon. Once in Spain, the agency continued to be in touch with us to confirm details such as driver information and make sure things were going well.  They planned seamless transitions between cities/regions, whether by plane, train or car.  Very professional drivers collected us from and took us to airports--some of them were quite entertaining and sources of great travel advice.  We were also quite happy with all the hotels our agency booked for us with respect to comfort and desired amenities.  Finally, the private guides our agency arranged for us were FANTASTIC---they were very expert, friendly and professional. They each taught us so much about their city's/region's history and gave great tips for navigating the area on our own. Through these guides, we were provided a unique lens into the culture of the region we were exploring.

Spain Travel Agent Review: San Sebastian, Laguardia, New Year's Eve in Bilbao, Mount Montserrat, Hiking, 11-Day Trip

I have found the services offered by the travel company to be professional, attentive and of high quality. The proposed itinerary was innovative, thoughtful and customised to our needs. The tour contained a good range of places to visit and restaurants for my family. We went for Pintxo tour in San Sebastián, hiking along the pilgrimage route, wine tasting and tour of wineries, hiking in Montserrat to meals at Michelin-starred restaurant. All the transfers between hotels, airports and train stations and private tours were carried out smoothly with highly professional Drivers and guides. The overal cost of the tours could be higher than if we were to make on-line bookings individually but the time saved and the quality of experience from the hotels to places and activities planned for us is well worth the extra cost. Just one phone call, several emails and we had a wonderful experience in Spain that is just right for our family. Cound’nt ask for more.

Spain Travel Review: Mudejar Architecture, Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, Seville, Museums, Visiting Friends, Food & Sites
Our 3 week trip to Spain from Barcelona to Madrid was spectacular! We thank Zicasso for the advanced planning sessions with us, the hotel selections, the prearranged tickets and guides. Our trip planner interviewed us thoroughly before creating our itinerary to learn about our travel style, needs, interests, etc. He amended our itinerary multiple times to meet the specific places we wanted to include, our timelines, and budget constraints.  Hotels selections were all clean, centrally located, with comfortable beds, elaborate breakfasts and helpful, friendly, staff. Drivers and guides were professional, punctual, local, knowledgeable and passionate about their cities, and the planner arranged advanced tickets to key attractions. Given that my husband and I are elderly travelers, all of this enabled us to feel safe and secure getting around. Our planner also arranged for us to have a car for 5 days to more leisurely explore some of the white villages and the Cadiz, Jerez and Seville areas. A contact person was available to us 24-7 for any issues that might come up along the way.

Travel Review: Anniversary Vacation in Spain, Barcelona, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Culture & Cuisine

We planned a week-long (no kids) getaway to Spain in early October.  Our focus was great food and enjoying the culture and we thought we'd like to go to Barcelona and San Sebastian.

We worked with this travel agent and it was both an incredible trip and a great planning process.  Our travel agent gathered some info from us via email and then we spoke on a Saturday.  We described the type of trip we were interested in and he offered us a variety of options as well as recommendations and guidance.  We changed our minds somewhat close to the trip and our agent quickly offered some new options and recommendations.  The planning process was simple and we felt confident with our trip plan.   He was great to work with, very responsive and knowledgeable.  He designed a trip that perfectly fit our style of travel.

Trip - 3 days in Barcelona, 1 day in Bilbao, 2.5 days in San Sebastian

The trip itself was incredible.

- all the logistics were perfect.  We had detailed packets of info, tickets, recommendations for each day.  All guides, drivers, etc. were as expected.

- tour guides (4) were all very professional, deeply knowledgeable (and passionate about the topic) and fun to spend time with.  These were private tours so they were also very flexible and accommodating to changes while on the tour

- Our agent helped arrange excellent meals (high end and more moderate) at restaurants in each city

- Our agent kept in frequent contact while we were in Spain sharing local updates.  There were no issues but had there been, I expect he would have been very responsive in addressing them.  We did end up canceling a dinner reservation a few days in advance and our agent quickly made the change (over a weekend) and offered alternatives.

We'd highly recommend working with this travel agent to plan a wonderful trip to Spain.

Travel Review: Luxury Spain Vacation, San Sebastian, Barcelona, Menorca, 11-Day Trip
The travel company helped us plan our recent travels to San Sebastian, Menorca and Barcelona.   All tours, guides and transfers were executed exactly as planned. The guides chosen for us were knowledgeable and maybe more important - enjoyable to be around! Our travel consultants were in touch with us throughout the trip and ensured that we had all the information we needed.  During the trip, we had a delayed flight and they ensured that the Driver awaiting us at the arrival airport knew; we had a question about the name of a service provider and they responded to my email within minutes; and thirdly we initiated a change to a scheduled activity and they were able to re-organize that activity in order to accommodate us.  The restaurants they recommended were quite good and in fact, were better than one of the restaurants recommended by our hotel!    I would not hesitate to work with this travel company and our travel consultant in the future and would highly recommend them.
