Kandy – In the Presence of Culture

The capital city of Colombo embodies the bustling spirit of a city and the remarkable culture of the island nation of Sri Lanka. The herbaceous and floral aromas of black tea emanate from a popular local cafe situated inside a renovated 17th-century Dutch hospital. The sapphire waters of the ocean glint against the golden shores draped in sand. Locals wind beneath the dangling saris and colorful shirts hanging over the aisles of the Pettah Market, the bustling shopping district. Your flight lands at Bandaranaike International Airport, where your private transfer meets you upon your arrival.

High-rises overlook the shoreline and locals lounge on the emerald grass of the coastal plain known as Galle Face Green. You leave the city behind and wind along the scenic road towards the capital of the hilly province. Water buffalo graze on the tall, untamed grasses. Palm fronds and ferns decorate the roadside, providing views of the emerald jungle canopy. You reach Kandy, a city of blending tropical ambiance and a cool, hillside climate set along the banks of Kandy Lake.

The waters shimmer with cobalt, reflecting the surrounding hills and the island at the center of the lake. After settling into the comforts of your luxurious hotel overlooking the lakeshores, you partake in a captivating Kandyan dance performance, welcoming you to the marvels of Sri Lanka. Performers enter the stage in traditional attire. Women wear elegant skirts decorated with red and white trim. Golden spires top their head and ears. Elaborate beadwork glistens in the light as the costumes accentuate each movement into an enchanting flow moving to the beat of the drum.

Luxury India & Sri Lanka Travel Review, Hyderabad, Kandy, Pondicherry, Coorg, Tangalle, Pontoon Ride, Coffee Plantation

We had an absolutely fabulous trip to India and Sri Lanka.

Planning with the travel representative was a pleasure. She was extremely responsive and understood what we wanted to do and see.

It was also wonderful to have travel agents who are in charge of our trip both in India and Sri Lanka that we could call if we had any questions or concerns. There were a few small issues that were readily corrected.

The travel agents in both Sri Lanka and India called us frequently to check in and see how we were doing. I could not have asked for more.

We had multiple fascinating experiences that I might not have planned on my own.

We loved the pontoon plane ride, the Safari, the visit to Madurai, the stay at the coffee plantation, in Coorg and the  meal with a lovely, lovely woman and her daughter in Pondicherry.

The hotels in Hyderabad, Candy, Pondicherry, Coorg and the resort in Tangalle were very special. The places were beautiful and the service wonderful!

Review: Luxury Sri Lanka Trip, Colombo, Gal Oya National Park, Habaraduwa, Boating, Hikes & Local Cuisine

My wife and I had a fantastic three-week trip to Sri Lanka in December 2018 and January 2019. This tour company provided us with an itinerary that allowed for a diversity of experiences, giving us an excellent snapshot of the culture, people, food, and natural landscape of Sri Lanka, a country that has something to offer all travelers.

We enjoyed the historical sites in the Cultural Triangle, the wildlife in Gal Oya National Park, hiking in Knuckles Mountain, relaxing in Tea Trails, and walking on the beach in Habaraduwa. Kudos to this tour company for catering to our travel interests. Both the company and the country did not disappoint!

Travel Review: Tour if India & Sri Lanka, Jaipur, Agra, Varanasi, Taj Mahal, Cooking Class, Wildlife

My husband and I used this travel agency to book a two week trip to India and a ten day trip to Sri Lanka. Our agent and the travel company were very easy to work with and helped me craft the perfect trip for our likings. We stayed in wonderful hotels, all very clean with nice amenities. The guides were excellent, timely, friendly and knowledgeable. The drivers were equally friendly and always on time. Driving in Asia is crazy and we always felt safe with our drivers and vehicles. The travel company kept in touch throughout the trip to make sure we didn't have any difficulties along the way. We had several in country flights and the luggage allowance is limited. We had an extra bag which the travel company arranged to store for us. This was immensely helpful! We would definitely use this agency again for future Indian travels.

10-Day Sri Lanka Trip Review, Safari in Yala National Park, Nine Arches Bridge, Local Cuisine & Relaxing Beaches
We had a great 10 day trip around Sri Lanka, covering many spectacular sights. Planning the trip and communicating with the travel company was easy and quite prompt and considering that there was about only about a month to plan the trip, they managed to organise everything well. We had an excellent driver / guide who accompanied us throughout and he was very accommodating and made sure the drives were comfortable. Unfortunately there were heavy rains and the train which we were supposed to take from Nuwara Elliya to Ella was not running but our driver made sure to check beforehand with the train station and in the end we journeyed by car without any major hiccups in the itinerary. We’ll have to go back for the train trip!

India Luxury Vacation Review: Taj Mahal, Kerala, Jaipur, Delhi, Jodhpur

Zicasso’s company was a pleasure to work with and delivered a fabulous five-week trip to northern and southern India and Sri Lanka that exceeded our expectations.

We were two adult couples visiting for the first time. Our travel agent worked closely with us during many weeks of planning to craft a trip that matched our interests and budget.

The trip itself was exceptionally well organized and well executed. The guides, drivers, hotels, sites, and activities were all first-rate.

When there was a minor snafu with one of the hotels (it was overtaken by an unannounced wedding), our tour operator and his team reacted quickly to arrange an alternative hotel, which we loved. I give him and his team my highest recommendation.
