The expert travel planning by our tour planners was flawless. They gave us details and planning directions that were always helpful and on time. I never felt like I needed to do extra planning and when I had a concern, they always responded immediately. Even as we were in the middle of the trip and I had some concern about the bad weather, a tour planner responded almost immediately and did some research and contacted the flight people. The lodging in Arusha is unbelievable. Gibbs Farm near the crater is the same. Too much to tell on these two lodgings, but go to the web site. The Sanctuary Serengeti camp was great. Our tent overlooked the vast Serengeti from our high spot in the southwest area. Gorilla Sanctuary lodge at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was fabulous.

You could not have planned the trip better. It was fantastic! Our safari driver from Rangers was great - again could not of been better. He pushed every day for us to see everything possible. Hes fun and incredibly knowledgeable and has a great command of the English language. You were right to schedule one day in Nairobi - so glad we did not change it to two days. We saw the last of the Big 5 - the black rhino in Kenya. We loved all of our accommodations and the people are so friendly, polite and helpful. We saw the Great Migration in Tanzania. We would not of changed one thing. People from other tour agencies were dissapointed that when they arrived in Kenya when we did as all of the Wildebeest had already migrated to Tanzania. What you scheduled for us was perfect. I do think that Tanzania is not well known but Kenya is to the average American like us. If it wasn't for you we would of never known about Tanzania. Tanzania has it all - except the black rhino at the Govenor's Camp- no need to even go to Kenya but I did want to go the the Elephant and Giraffe orphanages. We loved Capetown, the shark cage trip and the tour operator was wonderful. The 1/2 day Capetown trip was great. We went on the historic Capetown walking tour at 11:00 after we checked out. We added the Olduvai museum at the crater to our trip. We had a wonderful time and saw so much in 17 days including traveling from the East Coast; Arusha, Tarangire National park, Ngorongoro crater, Central Serengeti - Turner Springs, Norther Serengeti - Kokatonde, Masai - Mara, Nairobi, Victoria Falls and Capetown. A trip of a lifetime.

Wow. That's just for starters. I just returned from Africa with my partner and two of our close friends. We had a 2 week trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar booked through this African safari tour operator. It included a day hike on Mt. Kilimanjaro, 7 days of safari, and 3 days at a resort in Zanzibar.
Just as we prepared to leave San Francisco, our flight was delayed, and we had to rebook arrangements, and arrived in Arusha 36 hours later than planned. That did not phase our travel company. I sent them an email on Saturday AM with our new flight plans, a representative of was waiting for us as we landed at 3:30AM, and the adventure continued.
Our travel company was able to shuffle our schedule to allow us to fit in our hike on Mt. Kilimanjaro at the end of the safari portion of our trip, and give up one day in Zanzibar.
All of the accommodations were first class. We stayed at the Arusha Hotel for just a few hours when we landed, and found it to be a charming colonial style hotel that we wished we could have enjoyed more.
Our driver/guide, Joseph, was with us 7 days. He was very good at negotiating the rough roads on safari, and we were able to see most of what we wanted over the trip.
We stayed one night at Kirururu Lodge overlooking Lake Manyara. Be sure to have a drink at the bar - the view down to the lake is breath-taking.
The two nights at Tloma Lodge were also very nice. The rooms were large and well-appointed, and the meals were wonderful. It was relaxing to hang around the lobby in the afternoon talking to other travelers, comparing sights on our safari outings. A special thanks to Martha for her outstanding service. She was the best.
In the Serengeti, we stayed two nights each in two tent camps. One in the central part (Kati Kati), and one farther north along the Mara River (Mara Under Canvas Camp). The Mara camp was very deluxe. Our tent must have been over 600 square feet, and had plumbed cold water.
The whole trip exceeded our expectations. Our agent at this travel company was so helpful at every phase of planning and during the trip when our plans changed at the last minute. Our tour guides were also there every step of the way in Tanzania. We were never at a loss as to where to go or when, as they had us totally covered.

Our safari travel agent put together a wonderful 11 day itinerary for us. We have been to Africa before but always stayed at lodges. This time we wanted a tented camp experience and locations in the northern Serengeti for the great migration. I gave her a rough idea of what parks I wanted to stay at and she came back with suggestions telling me why one park was better to just drive for a day instead of spending a night. We arrived a day early to rest up after the long 20 hour flight. She arranged a pick up at the airport for us and an extra night stay at the African Tulip Hotel. Her husband came out the next day and took us out to a school on the outskirts of Arusha that he was helping to take some school supplies and clothing we had brought. He then ran us into the main market place so we could buy some rice for our bags to cushion our cameras on the vehicle. He then took us to the culture center for our souvenir shopping. Every arrangement we ask for was made and there were no surprises at the camps or the flights to and from the northern Serengeti. Our guide was a gem. He was so patient with us at each park when we would ask to stop so we could take photos and knew to turn the engine off so the vibrations wouldn't interfere. He was very knowledgeable about animals and birds. If he didn't have the answer he had some wonderful books on birds and animals the he would use to answer our questions. He was determined to make sure we did see one of the crossings at the Mara River. For 3 days the herd would gather at the river and then back off. On our last day, as we were moving to a new camp further away from where the migration would be, he ask if we would mind trying one more time to see if the herd would make the crossing. Sure enough, that morning we saw the wildebeest and zebras make the crossing. We had given up on the chance to see it but our guide was determined to make every effort for us to see it. He knew where a rhino liked to graze and spotted a female rhino and her baby from over a half mile away and we were the only ones to see her that day. Same for a leopard and seeing it have its lunch. When we had to postpone our hot air balloon ride one day due to high winds Our driver took us out very early that morning and we came upon 2 male lions having their morning breakfast. He has a great sense of humor and always helping with any questions we had. We couldn't have asked for a better guide on this trip. Also we have to mention our driver who drove out from Arusha to pick us up at our camp at Ngorongoro Crater to take us to the airstrip for our trip up to the northern Serengeti because our guide was driving over night to meet us at the airstrip there. The company is Tanzanian owned and they give back to their community with bringing in water so the villagers don't have to walk miles for it and build the desks and put in cement flooring at the local school. It was the best Tanzania trip we have had in 3 visits there. We can't say enough good things about this travel agency.

I selected Zicasso's travel partner for our trip to Tanzania. There were four of us: my husband, me, my son, and daughter-in-law. Our agent worked very closely with me to plan an itinerary that would best utilize our time, but ensure we saw everything we wanted. Her recommendations were spot on. We started planning this trip 16 months early. Throughout the entire time, she was always responsive to emails. She is an expert on Tanzania and has built very strong relationships within the country. We were told several times during our trip what an excellent partner she is in safari travel.
We spent two nights in Arusha, two nights in Tarangire National Park, and four nights in Serengeti National Park. All of the accommodations were excellent. The lodge in Arusha was a lovely place to relax and recover from the long flight. We were able to walk the golf course, which is private and only available to the owners of the properties. Guests can walk around along the edge. No one was golfing, so we saw quite a bit of wildlife. The chef was stellar and very friendly. Our travel agent was in Arusha while we were there and came to meet us.
In Tarangire, we stayed at a camp. The tent was nicely decorated, with plenty of space for our things. The staff were quick to accommodate requests for a bucket shower or an escort to the main area. Meals were buffet-style. Tarangire has a very large elephant population. We also saw many vervet monkeys, mongoose, giraffes and two leopards.
The camp in the Serengeti was truly exceptional. Our permanent tent included a soaking tub, indoor and outdoor shower, plunge pool, and deck with a view. We watched elephants, giraffes, and waterbuck walk by while we relaxed between the morning and evening game drives. Plus, they had a beautiful fire pit where we enjoyed a cocktail with other guests before dinner. The meals were also exceptional. Lunch and dinner included three menu choices. The sundowner on our last evening was so awesome. The large herds and number of predators in the Serengeti make it an extraordinary experience.
Our guide was the best. He could spot wildlife so far away that even other guides were impressed. During our six safari days, we saw five leopards. I was most interested in seeing cheetahs. We saw seven in the Serengeti, including a mother with two cubs. This was my eighth safari. I had never seen a cheetah cub in the wild until that moment.
