Buenos Aires - City of Style and Luxury
Buenos Aires marches to the beat of the tango. The pulse of the city is captivating at all hours of the day. The 47 barrios (neighborhoods) have their own distinct personalities that have grown and evolved with the traditions of the culture. The city was founded in the 16th century by Spanish conquistadors and maintains a connection to its European roots, seamlessly blending with Latin American flair. Your private transfer greets you at Ministro Pistarini International Airport upon your arrival in the city. You easily settle into the comforts of your hotel situated in the charming neighborhood of Recoleta. Trees with emerald leaves shade the wide avenues.
Locals, known as porteños, sit in cafes sipping a glass of wine and watching passersby. The stunning former theater of El Ateneo Grand Splendid now houses a celebrated bookshop and coffee house. Tables stand on the former stage and books wrap around the upper balconies. Various antique shops fill the streets of Defensa in the historic neighborhood of San Telmo. Window displays create a Bohemian ambiance, depicting vintage clothing and hand carved tables and chairs. People stroll along Plaza de Mayo, the central square bordered by the pink façade of the Presidential Mansion, referred to locally as the Casa Rosada. The structure was erected in the 19th century, but the plaza was founded in the 16th century, making it one of the oldest squares in the city. The city moves quickly and highlights its captivating qualities around every corner. Our travels through Chile and Argentina organized by our travel agency was amazing. We visited the Atacama Desert in the northern part of Chile. Then went on to Patagonia where we spent time doing some hiking and viewing the glaciers. It was a private tour and our accommodations were perfect for us. In smaller towns where we could wander around and observe the local life. Liked being able to stay multiple days in several places so we didn’t have to move everyday. Our guides were all very informative and accommodating.Ignacio and were always very prompt with their responses whenever we had a question before and during the trip. All our pick ups and transfers were always on time. Totally satisfied with this travel company and definitely recommend them.

It was a memorable trip with seamless operation. We will use this travel company for future S. America travel and recommend it to our friends.
My husband and I have been taking Argentine tango for a few years. Many friends had visited Buenos Aires and raved about the experience. We'd been planning a trip to pay homage to the birth place of tango, to soak up on the history of the land and culture. We also wanted to visit Patagonia for the landscape, its flora and fauna.
We researched several travel sites to review our options. This travel company became our top choice, not only for the high marks on customer feedback, but for its commitment of introducing tourists to the land in a socially and environmentally "Responsible" manner.
Thanks to our travel agents, we had an itinerary for early March, 2018, that combined tango in Buenos Aires with Patagonia. Our travel team came to the hotel to greet us and brought a gift set of yerba mate with ceramic cup and wooden scoop crafted by local disadvantaged artists. We appreciate that!
We had a wonderful "tango' guide to show us the Buenos Aires through tango lens. We spent an afternoon sightseeing the city, the streets of La Boca and Carminito, learned the life and culture of the era, the art of Benito Quenquela Martin, Carlos Gardel, Filiberto, their influence in the development of tango. At night we attended a milonga to see how the porteños do tango. The next day our travel company arranged a tango lesson and a spectacular performance at the iconic La Ventana. In addition to tango, the gaucho culture was well represented by a guitarist with a 12-string guitar and a lasso performance.
After BA we spent 3 days each in Ushuaia and El Calafate. The transition to local operators was seamless. We had a great time seeing 3 species of penguins, Magellanic, Gentoo and king penguins on Isla Martillo. We also saw sea lions, fur seals, grey foxes, imperial cormorants, turkey vultures, southern giant petrels, black brow albatross, skuas, cauquens and caracaras, to name a few. We saw the flag trees of the Tierra del Fuego bending to the force of wind, much like the tuckamores of the Newfoundland, Canada, we saw on a visit there.
We visited the Penitentiary and Maritime Museum in Ushuaia, did zip line at the Cerro Frias, ice walk on the Perito Moreno Glacier, and horse back riding at the Estancia.
Our travel company's recommendations on food were also remarkable. We particularly enjoyed our hotel in El Calafate, its Patagonia lamb and pasta dishes were excellent.

We were very hesitant to use an online travel agency that we had no familiarity with but went ahead and hired this travel company located In Buenos Aries. The proprietor picked us up at the airport and drove us to our Airbnb with a stop to change money. The 8 day tour was fantastic and the price was reasonable. We saw Iguazu Falls, Bariloche and El Calafate in Patagonia. We saw the best of each place, waterfalls, the seven lakes, several boat trips, the Perita Merino and Uppsala Glaciers with fully guided tours and time between outings to spend time in the towns. He arranged all hotels, transfers, guided tours and air travel to each destination and a ferry ride to Uruguay which is no easy task. The hotels were great, especially the hotel in Bariloche which was a bit outside of town but turned out had the best restaurant in town. When we complained about our hotel in Calafate he stepped up to the plate and immediately transferred us to a better hotel. Whenever we had a question or problem our travel planner always responded quickly and solved it. We had a six hour delay from El Calafate to Buenos Aires which meant missing our ferry to Colonia and losing our prepaid non refundable hotel. Not his fault but again he helped us rearrange our schedule and reserved a wonderful hotel a block away from the ferry to Uruguay the next morning. We will definitely employ this travel company for our next trip. Our travel planner is originally from Ireland so communication was always perfect.
