Detailed Description

In a remote corner of the globe, New Zealand and Australia continue to serve up journeys into untamed bliss. Tropical islands are without footprints, evocative desert stands untouched, and dazzling wilderness imbues a continual sense of pure escapism. But while the land remains as redolent as ever, both nations have their feet firmly in the modern world. This luxury New Zealand and Australia tour will elevate your experience with an absolute commitment to luxury, from private yachts and helicopter rides to exclusive boutique restaurants and experiences reserved for the most discerning. Over 21 days, this itinerary reveals the finest that New Zealand and Australia have to offer, combining the feeling of a magical continent with a luxuriant exclusivity that knows no boundary.

New Zealand is a popular destination as reflected by the travel reviews for New Zealand. For this trip, you will start in the far north of New Zealand, the majestic Bay of Islands explored for two days with your own private yacht. Pick a route through the uninhabited islets and hidden bays, dropping anchor in remote paradise and soaking up the serenity. Fly south and follow the rumblings until you’re standing on the edge of a live volcano, hissing and bubbling coming from the abyss at White Island. Maori experiences and ancient forests compliment your time in Rotorua before a private helicopter takes you over New Zealand’s patchwork of evocative landscapes. Arrive in the boutique vineyards of Hawkes Bay and spend two days exploring the country’s finest national parks; the islands of Abel Tasman and the rugged mountains of Kahurangi.

Down in Queenstown, nature enhances its juxtaposed impressions of drama and tranquility. Explore the seemingly endless fiords and triangular peaks by helicopter, and then soothe the senses with an exclusive journey to Central Otago’s vineyards. For the second part of your journey, fly to Australia, touching down in Sydney, a city that harmoniously blends into its natural surroundings. Admire the iconic cityscape from the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge, and feel the elegance of its most famous building with a night at Sydney Opera House. Lost landscapes dazzle below as you fly to Western Australia, heading towards the deserted tropical beaches of Ningaloo. Hundreds of miles of untouched sandy nirvana await. Relax. Indulge. Then enjoy a day swimming with whale sharks and discovering an untouched marine world.

Blue turns to red as you land in Australia’s red center, spectacular Uluru (Ayer’s Rock) standing proud in the desert. Marvel at the natural majesty and feel the ancient spirituality of this unique wonder, and then settle back for a night of guided stargazing. Melbourne is the final stop, and it epitomizes the diversity of this vacation. A day of world famous vineyards is followed by an intimate experience with kangaroos and koalas, and then the vibrant delights of the country’s cultural heart. New Zealand & Australia Trip Review: Hiking near Punakaiki & Wanaka, Wai-O-Tapu, Farmlands of Napier, Marlborough Sound, Sydney
We recently completed a 3 week trip to New Zealand and Sydney, Australia. Our travel planner and this travel company turned our ideas for this trip into a wondrous adventure!! Working with our planner was fun, easy, and totally enjoyable even before the trip began! She offered hotel and activity alternatives, listened intently to our preferences, and made all the booking an absolute breeze!! Knowing our planner was available (in the background) during our entire trip was an added bonus when we experienced a hotel booking hiccup along the way. We contacted our planner with the issue (on a Friday evening while she was walking her dog on the beach!!), she went to work immediately to resolve it, stayed in touch with us via text messages and calls, and fixed the issue without hesitation. My wife and I were relieved and impressed with the integrity and professionalism with which the planner worked.Regarding the trip itself, New Zealand is a gorgeous country with so many outstanding places to see. The travel company offered us a great mix of independent travel coupled with the right amount of "pre-booked tours and activities" to immerse us in the New Zealand culture. Whether it was biking the farm country around Napier, boating around Abel Tasman National Park or hiking the trails of Punakaiki and Wanaka the trip exceeded our expectations. When our tour of Milford Sound was cancelled due to weather related road closures, our planner quickly rebooked us on a trip to Doubtful Sound giving us the opportunity to still experience the beauty and tranquility of Fiordland National Park.Sydney is an amazing city with an outstanding transit system. Book a Blue Mountains tour to see the countryside but don't miss out on exploring all that Sydney has to offer beyond the Opera House (the tour of the Opera House should be on everybody's list; a great take!). Manly Beach, the coastal walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach, Spice Alley for dinner, and the Sydney Fish Market are all not to be missed.

Luxury New Zealand Tour Review: Taupo, Rotorua, Tongariro National Park, Abel Tasman Park, Mt. Cook, Tasman Glacier, Lake Wanaka

My husband and I went on a wonderful trip to New Zealand visiting both North and South Island. The trip was originally planned for 2021 but had to be postponed until this year. I prefer working with an agent, and Lindsay from our travel agency was extremely responsive, offering helpful options and suggestions. Even though the time we spent on the North Island was right after the torrential rains, we modified the itinerary to spend four days in the Taupo area and two days in Rotorua.

We hiked in the Tongariro National Park and part of the Great Lake Pathway, sailed to view the Maori Rock Carvings, and visited Orakei Korako geothermal pools and Huka Falls in the Lake Taupo area. In Rotorua, we relaxed in the mineral pools of the spa and enjoyed the indigenous Maori experience at Te Puia.

The next 12 days were spent on the South Island where we had sunny and warm weather! One of our favorite places was Abel Tasman Park where we went kayaking and hiked the beautiful Coast Trek. We continued our adventures with a memorable heli-hiking experience on the Tasman Glacier in the Mt. Cook region, followed by visiting the unique blue penguins and Royal Albatrosses on the Otago Peninsula and enjoyed a hike and cruise on the famous Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park.

We ended our journey with three days in the Lake Wanaka area where we kayaked, hiked, and visited some of the region's famous wineries.

New Zealand Luxury Trip Review: Rotorua, Queenstown, Hobbiton, Wellington, Glenorchy, Milford Sound, Māori Culture, Museum

We have been fortunate and blessed to travel the world and have used Zicasso to point us in the right direction. This travel company is among our top three; no, make that number one; the best travel agency we have worked with on all accounts.

Our agent and her team hit a home run. From the drivers and local guides to the food choices, experiences, lodging, and delightful and professional expertise shown to us, all of our expectations were exceeded. Truly, they care about making a traveler feel so very welcome, and the sheer beauty of New Zealand was only surpassed by the warm, kind, joyful, and loving people.

There were so many instances in which we had to pinch ourselves to make certain the magical journey was real. From the most delightful, delicious, and charming dinner with a magnificent Māori family, to the helicopter ride to Mount Owen, the boat trip to Abel Tasman, our Milford Sound boat ride, the Weta Studios, the magnificent lodging in Rotorua, and personally meeting our agent during our stay in Nelson, our two-week journey kept building more and more cherished memories. As it turned out, one of my friend’s daughters is studying in Christchurch, and after viewing our itinerary and speaking with another team member of the company, he and his wife have decided to explore other parts of New Zealand using this exemplary, professional, and probably best, detailed-oriented company.

We want to personally thank our agent for her marvelous suggestions, arrangements, and positive, charming, professional, and gracious personality. You truly created a most memorable trip experience that will not be forgotten and will always be appreciated.

Travel Review: Vacation in New Zealand & Fiji, Nelson, Te Anau National Park, Abel Tasman, Doubtful & Milford Sound, Pahia

This travel agent and the travel company team were out of this world! They crafted an amazing four-week adventure for us in New Zealand and Fiji. We started in Te Anau, NZ, where we focused on hiking and boating to both the Milford and Doubtful Sounds. We flew from Te Anau to the Nelson area at the top of the south island and fell in love with Mapua, located just 30 minutes from Nelson. We explored the Abel Tasman area extensively there. Next, we traveled (by plane again) to Russell, just across the way from Pahia and Kerikeri. It was a dream of a place, and we continued to hike, sail, and eat amazing food and drink delicious wines. Our accommodations couldn't have been better! Our travel company thought of everything! Last stop was Fiji - this their idea - make a stop in a super relaxing place on the way home back to Texas. The resort was out of a picture book - we had an extraordinary villa with our own plunge pool - the service, food, and staff were beyond amazing. We highly recommend this company - even when we had a travel snag, our agent answered his cell straight away and was on call to help us get to a solution. Can't say enough good things about him and his team!

Travel Review: Tour of Australia & New Zealand, Sydney, Auckland, Blue Mountains, Abel Tasman, Milford Sound, Mt Cook, Wildlife

This company was our travel agent for our 1 month trip to Australia and NZ. They did an amazing job – from initial trip planning right through last minute adjustments to help us get the most from our trip! We recommend them VERY highly to anyone who is planning a trip.

We planned a week in Sydney and 3 weeks in NZ. I had written up some notes to outline our thoughts. Our travel agent had read my notes with attention before the first call, and did a great job of listening as well as making suggestions during that call. He promptly created a great draft itinerary, and then worked with me to further tailor the trip to fit what we wanted exactly. We had an absolutely wonderful trip.

In Sydney our agent based us in the heart of the historic district, which meant we could walk to any historic site, lots of great restaurants, as well as to Circular Quay, from which all the ferries depart. He set up a wonderful morning walking tour that included the historic Rocks sites, as well as the amazing Barrangaroo Reserve, with our own private Aboriginal Peoples guide. We also had a very different Blue Mountains tour, far from the crowds, and a hike with a private naturalist guide, as well as an early morning entry to Featherdale – no madding crowds anywhere!  Our main guide also arranged some delightful surprises – a “pop-up picnic” in Sydney,  and elevenses with traditional Australian treats like lamingtons and anzac biscuits in the Blue Mountains.

In NZ our focus was on the national parks - Abel Tasman, Mt Cook, Fjiordland, and the scenic Trans-Alpine train ride. Our agent suggested a wonderful itinerary, and worked with us to identify just the right hotels given our interests and priorities. He also arranged every detail –flights, cars, etc. At the last minute, we changed our plans for Milford Sound to go there when it was forecast to be clear (it is usually raining in Fjiordland!) and our travel team turned on a dime and helped us adjust our itinerary – we ended up having a fabulous Milford Sound visit, with no rain, though it poured before and after!

All in all, a wonderful trip!

South Pacific Vacation Review: Australia & New Zealand, Aukland, Sydney, Wellington, Rotorua, Hobbiton, Doubtful Sound

~~I retired and my wife and I decided it was time to take the trip to New Zealand and Australia that we had been talking about for quite some time.  I discovered Zicasso while doing my initial research for the trip and decided to give it a try, in addition to the many standard tours we were looking into.  I had many different firms provide proposals and after doing my due diligence I settled on this firm.

Our agent listened and consistently provided options and insights that resulted in a month long itinerary that promised to deliver the experiences we were looking for.  She was a pleasure to deal with.

We spent two weeks in New Zealand beginning in Auckland, moving south through Hobbiton and Rotorua where we gained a deep appreciation for the Maori people and their culture.  Then on to Wellington the capital.  The ferry to Picton and the train to Christchurch were inspiring.  Then we drove from Christchurch to Mt. Cook and then on to Queenstown.  The night we spent on Doubtful Sound was the all-around highlight of the trip.  All throughout the tour guides, drivers and accommodations exceeded expectations.  Then we were on to Australia where our first stop was Sydney.  Alongside the Opera House and the Harbor Bridge a highlight was a half day guided tour of the city in a 1964 Holden.  Then we were on to Cairns and Port Douglas where the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest awaited.  Our day on the Reef was extraordinary.  Snorkeling off the beach at Low Isle was an experience to remember.  Our day on the Daintree River and in the rainforest was unforgettable.  While driving we stopped as a male cassowary and four chicks crossed the road and disappeared into to the bush.  Now we were on to Ayers Rock where the magic of Uluru awaited.  The Sounds of Silence dinner in the desert as the sun set with Uluru in the distance and didgeridoo in the background was magical.  As our time was growing short we were off to Melbourne where we joined a tour on the Great Ocean Road.  Wow, the Twelve Apostles and the coast exceeded our expectations.  What a great place.  Only matched, maybe outdone by the hosts of the B&B’s we stayed at.  We’re not big B&B folks, but the Lock Ard and Little River B&Bs were perfect and we will try more in the future.

Our agent had truly delivered a trip of a lifetime.
