London – Arrive in the Romance of London’s Charming Neighborhoods

London is a city known for its cosmopolitan culture, rich history, and fast pace. However, the capital of England also has a familiar charm wrapped up in the preserved streets, re-emergence of quality restaurants, and simple hideaways perfect for romancing couples. You will arrive at London Heathrow Airport, where your private transfer greets you after customs. You have a chance to settle into the comforts of your luxury accommodations in the heart of the city before venturing onto the cobbled lanes for an immersive introductory tour of London’s most charming neighborhoods. Primrose Hill is one of London’s more affluent neighborhoods, which overtook a formerly unfettered woodland in the 19th century.

English monarchs used the grounds for hunting parties until the wealthy residents of the city who preferred more space and marvelous views of the city’s skyline made the neighborhood a fantastic place to settle down. Famous residents of the neighborhood include Sylvia Plath, Kate Moss, Dylan Thomas, and Jude Law. You can take a quiet stroll between Camden Town and Primrose Hill, which leads you over the quaint rippling waters of the Grand Union Canal erected in the late 18th century. Boats wade in the water or cruise down the serene waterway as they pass beneath the branches of dangling trees and alongside lavish structures. Upon reaching Primrose Hill, you have a stunning panorama of London’s Financial District, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the soaring Shard building standing 1,017 feet tall.

Scotland, England, Ireland Family Trip Review: London, Edinburgh, Kirkcudbright, Dublin, 12-Night Vacation

My family and I decided to take a trip to the small town of Kirkcudbright, Scotland, to visit MacLellan's Castle due to family ancestry. We wanted to make a full trip out of it and see more of the UK and Ireland, so we reached out to the Zicasso travel agency to help us with the trip.

We started in London, then to Edinburgh, then Kirkcudbright, and on to Dublin, Ireland. The trip planner was so easy to work with and handled our various questions and requests very well, despite our group number changing a few times.

Our accommodations in every location were great and in convenient spots to explore each city. He even navigated us visiting the small town of Kirkcudbright, with very few accommodation options for our final group of six.

We took the train from London to Edinburgh and a ferry from Kirkcudbright to Dublin, and both were such great experiences, including upgrades to first class and a nice lounge on the ferry.

Our agent was easy to communicate with and made sure things were going well, even while we were on the trip. My family and I could not have asked for a better trip and would definitely recommend this travel company for a visit to the UK/Ireland.

England Review: Multi-Generational Family Vacation, Stonehenge, Buckingham Palace, Cotswolds, Shakespeare, Oxford, Local Farm

Our trip to England was fantastic!  We traveled with my parents and my two teenaged boys. We only had 10 days for the trip, so we decided to keep our destinations relatively close together.  Our travel planner did a great job of listening to our must do items and weaving together an itinerary that hit everything without exhausting us.  They were very prompt in responding to any questions or changes and we were never left hanging.

We visited London, Stonehenge, The Cotswolds, Stratford, and Oxford.  During our four days in London, we went to Westminster Abbey, the Churchill War Rooms, Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Kensington Gardens, and The British Museum.  We saw two shows in London, one at the Globe and another right by Piccadilly Circus.  From there, we went to Hampton Court, Stonehenge, spent the night at a Castle in South Gloucestershire, took a tour of The Cotswolds, took in all things Shakespeare in Stratford, visited Blenheim Palace, Windsor Castle and had an owl evening at a falconry center where we got to handle and 'fly' several owls.  The trip was a perfect mix of city and country without having to drive hours on end.

The travel planner sent us a binder a couple weeks out from the trip with each day mapped out with our itinerary for the day, then any tickets or directions we would need for that day.  It was extremely organized and made everything very easy to keep track of.  They had suggestions for activities and places to eat, which were very helpful.

The trip was wonderful and everyone in the family loved it!

England Luxury Trip Review: London & Countryside, Theater, Shakespeare, Yorkshire Dales, Bath, Cotswold, Tea Time, History & Sites
Overall, our two week England/London trip was great! The planning was tailored to our needs exceptionally well. The English countryside part of the trip was wonderful.  Our guides/drivers were knowledgable, friendly, and gave us insights that were greatly appreciated. All of the scheduled pick-ups and tours happened on schedule. Our accommodations were for the most part, better than expected. And, when there were glitches, things were resolved quickly. For example, we were able to switch out of a sub-par room that had serious mold and mildew problems, into a better room and were then compensated with a free dinner. At one hotel, we were told that we would have to pay for the two nights lodging because the company that was supposed to set up a voucher had no credit there. It took a few days, but that was resolved to our satisfaction as well. The only other problem was at Stratford Upon Avon. The description of the day we received before we departed indicated we would get to see Shakespeare's birthplace, Hall's Croft and Anne Hathaway's cottage.  Our voucher, however, only provided us with admission to the birthplace. We never got to Hall's Croft, and had to pay an extra fee to see Anne Hathaway's cottage. Hopefully we will get reimbursed for that extra expense. The responsiveness of the local organizing company was appreciated. We would not hesitate to use this travel team again. Our contact person was great to work with, and we loved what he put together for us.

Luxury Scotland & England Vacation Review: London, Cotswolds, York, Isle of Skye, Edinburgh, Lochs, Castles, Scottish Highlands
Our party of 4 just returned from our 2 week tour of England. London was our first destination. It was great from the start. We had a private driver and tour guides the whole time. Angela was our guide for England and Jeffrey was our guide in Scotland. Both were awesome and took exceptional care of us. We drove about 1000 miles from London up through the Cotswolds, York and then into Scotland, and all the way up to the Isle of Skye and the Lochs. We ended our trip in Edinburgh. Everything was customized to our particular interests and just wonderful. We stayed in castles along the way for the full on Downton Abbey experience and visited some sites from the Outlander movies. I would be hard pressed to say what my favorite things were, since everywhere we went was amazing. We did love our nights at the castles. The Castle near Chester-le-Street, the Castle near Girvan and the Castle near Fort William were magical. It was a vacation of a life time. I can't say enough about our guide Jeffrey in Scotland. I've never seen anyone more bent on pleasing his guests. All we had to do was mention a place or stop or whatever and he'd make it happen. A more knowledgeable and purely nice person you'll never meet.I hope to get another chance to tour with Jeffrey and this travel company. We're already thinking about next year.

Scotland & Ireland Anniversary Vacation Review: Golfing, Ruins & Castles, Overnight in a Castle, Scenery
When we decided that we wanted to travel to Scotland and Ireland for our 30th Anniversary, we were ecstatic that we were matched up with this tour company.  Our trip planners did a great job of working with us to develop our itinerary to balance our desires to see memorable parts of both countries, as well as play golf at some of their great golf clubs.  We were also thankful that our planner thought to suggest that we adjust the dates of our trip so that we could see the first British Open held in Northern Ireland in over 60 years. What resulted was a dream vacation that ticked off many of our bucket list items in the two weeks we spent on the road!  We saw ruins and castles in both countries (Edinburgh Castle, Blarney Castle, Rock of Cashel, Clava Cairns, Blair Castle), and got to play golf at five great courses (St Andrews, Carnoustie, Adare Manor, Old Head and The Island Club).
