Reims - Enticing First Taste

Reims has the culture of a big city and the relaxed, friendly ambiance of a small town. Gothic architecture creates an impressive skyline. Public squares gracefully open up to quiet cafes and chic restaurants. Your private transfer meets you at Charles de Gaulle International Airport upon your arrival in France and escorts you to the dazzling city of Reims, located 90 miles away. The famous Cathédral Notre-Dame de Reims was where French kings were crowned, and continues to act as a stupendous example of French Gothic architecture.

The structure was erected in the 13th century over the foundations of churches that have decorated the area since the 5th century. A rainbow of stained glass shines from the elegant windows. The grand rose window contains 12 petals on the western façade. An early 20th-century statue of Joan of Arc in full body armor decorates the organ case. The famous French general once stood by the side of Charles VII during his coronation in 1429. The tower climbs to a height of 266 feet, containing 250 steps from the base to the top. In the afternoon, you venture to the world-famous Mumm House with over 200 years of history and encompassing more than 537 acres. Follow your guide through the soul of the home and its lavish history, with a family lineage dating back to the 12th century. At the end of the tour, you celebrate with a sample of champagne, tasting the quality of the drink and the characteristics of the region. France Vacation Review: Rhone, Burgundy, Private Wine Tasting, 1 Week

Zicasso’s travel partner was an exceptional agency to work with while planning our trip to the French wine regions in the Rhone and Burgundy. Our travel agent listened to what we wanted to do and put together a trip that surpassed anything we could have planned on our own. The app that the agency used for our itinerary, tickets, vouchers, etc., was easy to navigate and kept everything we needed accessible.

France Birthday Tour Review: Paris, Champagne, Michelin Cuisine, Historical Sites, Seine Cruise, Eiffel Tower, 9 Nights

Zicasso's travel agency is a world-class travel company and our agent is the best travel designer in all of France. I could not recommend her more! She planned a once-in-a-lifetime luxury trip to Paris and Champagne to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday and it exceeded our expectations!

Our designer's extensive knowledge of the region, attention to detail, and expansive network of contacts ensured we had exceptional service and experiences throughout the trip.

When planning our itinerary, she took the time to learn what we liked and where we wanted to go, and the result was a perfect combo of sightseeing at historical landmarks, gastronomy at Michelin-starred restaurants, and VIP experiences like a private cruise down the Seine.

In Champagne, we learned more about the region's wine production and relaxed at the most prestigious hotel. All of our guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt.

Simply put, it was an amazing trip and it's because Zicasso's travel company planned it for us!

France Tour Review: Antibes, Avignon, Eze, Cannes, Paris, Provence, Sailing Experience, Wine Tasting, 7-Night Trip

Overall, it was good. Zicasso's travel agents picked a great hotel in the city of Antibes. The hotel in the city of Avignon was OK, but not great.

We struggled getting the schedule correct. We were not picked up at the train station in the city of Avignon.

We told the travel agent that we would let her know info for wine tasting. She kept the one she scheduled on our itinerary and did not book transportation to the winery we wanted to visit. The managing director gave us a tour and had contacts with friends in the US. We worked with our guide to change the winery tasting she booked. We didn’t get our finished itinerary until just before the trip because of changes we discussed via phone.

France Travel Review: Lyon, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, History, Food Pairings, Wine Tastings, 11 Nights

Our trip to Provence was fabulous. The three cities, Lyon, Avignon, and Aix-en-Provence, gave us a real sense of the region. The food, wine, and tours were all magnificent. The hotels were lovely and centrally located.

The five days in Avignon gave us a sense of the city and history.  All the guides were excellent and well informed. Our entire trip was well organized and the travel app which outlined our trip was “perfect." We were especially thankful for the drivers who were always on time.

We highly recommend our Zicasso travel expert and our travel company. We have never been disappointed with Zicasso.
