Detailed Description
Wildlife photography tours should always offer new and interesting subjects, intimate encounters, plus surreal landscapes that challenge and reward your skills. The Galapagos Islands excel on all these promises, taking you into a realm of prolific wildlife and mystical backdrops. On these isolated volcanic pinnacles, you're close enough to hear the delicate interaction between mating seabirds. You're close enough to reach out and touch giant endemic reptiles. And you're close enough to take your time and truly savor the photographic challenge. There's no waiting for tourists to depart the frame as this custom photography tour to Galapagos and Ecuador takes you in a small group to the iconic locations on the islands. At each wildlife site, you have near-exclusive access to its prolific wildlife, whether that's a mass seabird breeding ground or magical marine realm.
Your tailored itinerary is centered around an eight-day yacht cruise through the Galapagos Islands. This length of time enables you to visit the fringes of the archipelago and its rarest sights, like the red-footed boobies of Genovesa as well as the penguins and flightless cormorants of Fernandina. Panoramas of the islands come from the upper sundeck while the well-appointed ensuite cabins ensure you're fresh for each early-morning of wildlife photography. Snorkeling excursions are a huge part of the Galapagos experience, and you'll be in the water every day, capturing pelagic creatures like rays and reef sharks. Dolphins and whales are also regularly encountered so always have the camera to hand. Over the eight days, you tick off all the iconic Galapagos creatures, culminating with thousands of giant tortoises on Santa Cruz Island.
The Galapagos provides a fresh alternative to other popular wildlife photography destinations. There's no guessing about what you will see. Guides already know exactly where these rare species will be found. There's also no need to fumble and rush your first glimpse of an animal; while the range of most species is small, they inhabit the Galapagos in their tens of thousands. Patience isn't as compulsory as many other wildlife destinations. And neither is a gargantuan zoom lens. You're guaranteed to get within just a few meters of almost all the archipelago's famous characters. Our Galapagos Islands tour companies and agents ensure that you get the closest and most exclusive peek at the endemic wildlife.
On either side of the luxury cruise, there are two very different subjects to photograph. Spend a day with hummingbirds in the Mindo cloud forest, attempting to capture the rapid wings of a dozen different species. Then complete the trip in the Andes, where colorful markets and quiet traditional villages fill another camera roll. A historic hacienda offers pristine views of the mountains and a gentle two-night base for scrolling through and selecting the best photos from this 12-day trip.

Wonderful trip!! We flew into Quito spent 2 nights then we flew to San Cristoble and went on board the boat we chartered for 5 days. For 5 days we explored many of the Galapagos islands. We then arrived on Santa Cruz Island and spent 3 nights there. We flew back to Quito for 2 days and from there we returned home. Our trip planner was absolutely great, she kept me informed of any changes, called to check on us during our trip and made the whole process a breeze! The hotels she booked were perfect. Our guides were very knowledgeable and engaging, they were very sweet and accommodating, went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Our excursions were the best! I can not say one bad thing or I would not change any of it, it was a perfect trip!

Our trip to Galapagos and Quito Ecuador was Amazing!Everything went very smoothly with pick ups and day excursions. Our guides were so knowledgeable, kind and friendly. They spoke English very well and we learned so much during the time with them.
We weren’t sure what to expect since we never used Zicasso before to travel. So we were very happy. The only issue we had was that our last day to Tortuga Bay did not match the description on our itinerary. It said we would be offered biking, horseback riding and snorkeling and there was none of that available. Although it was an absolutely beautiful beach, it was disappointing. We had added an extra day to our trip and we are not sure if it was worth the money.
We would highly recommend this travel company because we were very happy with our hotels, guides captains and crews. It was an excellent vacation, other than that one issue.

We had a very nice trip to Quito, Ecuador, and the Galapagos Islands. The people in Quito were very friendly and we felt very safe. We were initially concerned based on what we saw in the media, but Zicasso's travel agency checked with the hotel and guides, and said all was fine. We are glad we listened and went on the trip.
Our guide was excellent and we spent four days touring around Quito, Cotopaxi, the cloud forest, and Otavalo Market. Then we flew to Galapagos and went on a four-night cruise. It was an amazing experience seeing sea turtles, sea lions, penguins, sharks, and giant tortoises. The landscapes were beautiful and we got some great pictures on our nature walks. The crew and guide in the Galapagos were top-notch. The meals on the boat were fabulous as well. Make sure you are physically able to do long walks, sometimes on rough terrain, and go snorkeling, as they kept us busy multiple times per day. We highly recommend visiting Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.
