Detailed Description
The Galapagos Islands stand like sentinels to natural history, each fiery volcanic remains a testimony to evolution on our planet. They stand on the equator, lost in the Pacific, separated from the rest of the world for all eternity. Some flourish with beds of green, places where daisies rise to five meters high and carpets of grass are mowed by giant tortoises. Others are desolate, supporting only the most specialized of characters, like flightless cormorants or marine iguanas. Along coralline sand, you find huge sea lion harems while penguins escapade beside lava tubes. Every island is unique, home to its own collection of flora and fauna and resembling a snapshot of endemic life. Then below the turquoise waves you find much more, the vibrant finds including a turtle cleaning station, reef sharks, and rays. But with so much awaiting discovery which Galapagos Island do you visit?
A ten-day Galapagos Islands tour on a luxury cruise allows you to explore fully the archipelago, from the bird-covered islands of the east to the new volcanic cones of the west. You'll enjoy astonishing proximity with all of the islands' iconic species; three booby species, curious reptiles, sea lions, playful penguins, the nesting sites of majestic birds. And you'll admire how evolution has been idiosyncratically carved on each distinct island. For ten days, you're completely submerged in natural history, cruising between islands with whales and dolphins for company. Land excursions are accompanied by a continual choice of marine adventures, including kayaking, snorkeling, and glass-bottom boat rides.
The luxury yacht you will cruse on is one of the newest and largest vessels on the archipelago. Multiple social areas provide you with lots of space while the huge upper deck is ideal for watching the islands sail by. With a capacity of 90, this 70-meter boat negates the chances of seasickness and ensures you can always do your choice of activity. Seven naturalist guides take passengers on the excursions and groups are staggered to ensure sites don't become crowded. All meals are included and served in a sumptuous dining room while the large en-suite cabins provide the elegance and comfort required for ten days on board. If interested, consider perusing other tours and cruises around Galapagos Islands.
Completing the tour is two nights in the old city of Quito, the world's first World Heritage Site. It's a chance to switch from sea-legs to land-legs and explore Ecuador's cultural history. Giant tortoises are replaced by giant plazas, flamboyant frigates become ornate churches, and you'll also be impressed by the evolution of life and style in Quito. Yet it's the Galapagos that grabs the headlines and the memories. Ten days captures all the diversity and iconicity of this rare indelible archipelago.

Wonderful trip!! We flew into Quito spent 2 nights then we flew to San Cristoble and went on board the boat we chartered for 5 days. For 5 days we explored many of the Galapagos islands. We then arrived on Santa Cruz Island and spent 3 nights there. We flew back to Quito for 2 days and from there we returned home. Our trip planner was absolutely great, she kept me informed of any changes, called to check on us during our trip and made the whole process a breeze! The hotels she booked were perfect. Our guides were very knowledgeable and engaging, they were very sweet and accommodating, went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Our excursions were the best! I can not say one bad thing or I would not change any of it, it was a perfect trip!

The Quito tour was very nice. Hotels in Quito and Galapagos (Puerto Ayora) were excellent.
After Quito, it went downhill. I was never given any contact information of the company there or the names of the tour guides. I had no idea of where I was having dinner each night (I thought it was at the hotel but the tour guide on the 1st day told me I was not eating at the hotel).
I did not know that when I arrived in Baltra (Galapagos) the tour was starting right from the airport. My water bottle and swimsuit, hat were all packed in my suitcase since I thought we would stop at the hotel first. The guide did not have any water for me and I was thirsty.
I had told our agent that I get very seasick but I didn't mind boats to go from Puerto Ayora to the different islands but that I would not sit on a rocking boat while others snorkeled, I said I was ok sitting on the beach while others snorkeled.
He assured me that he checked with the tour company and they said that they would be snorkeling from shore.
I told him my main goal was to see the giant tortoises, iguanas, and blue-footed boobies.
On the 2nd day, the boat ride to Bartolome was 2 1/2 hours one way. The seas were very rough and the main thing about Bartolome was its beauty. I opted out of the tour.

We traveled to Ecuador last month, with a week in the Galapagos, 5 days in the Amazon, and several days in Quito. Arrangements for travel were made through this travel agent who is located in Quito. Every phase of the trip was perfect, from his help before on arrangements and planning, choosing an Amazon lodge, day guides in Quito and Santa Cruz Island, recommendations for hotels, and transfers that were always there at the proper time at the hotels, airports and docks. Our travel agent always responded promptly to emailed questions and issues. He met personally with us when we arrived in Quito and went over our itinerary, and was always available by email or phone, although we really didn't have any problems to deal with. We travel a lot and have worked with many other agencies to plan trips. This travel company is now highest on our list and we would highly recommend their services for any travelers in Ecuador and South America.

Wonderful trip—we left on Feb 29 & back on Mar 9. Obviously, during that time period, the coronavirus escalated dramatically. I took my son, daughter-in-law, & 3 grandchildren as my gift to them.
This was really last minute as we had talked about Sicily but for some reason, decided not to go there. Had we booked a trip there I would have cancelled as Italy was then in the mid-stages of this awful pandemic. (Initially), 2 years ago when I found Zicasso, I called your company to find out more about it. I remember saying I hate to waste someone’s time if you send me 2 or 3 people. Whoever I talked with said that I should go with the person I felt most comfortable with. With last fall’s trip to Spain, I could have gone with either person. This time I had a much higher comfort level with both of these specialists than with the other company I was connected with. I’m sure she was fine but they stuck with my budget more. Ultimately, I upgraded the hotel, ship, & added 2 nights when we were in Mashpi but they were able to get really good prices and there was no pressure to upgrade. Our specialists answered questions promptly and courteously & had suggestions based on our responses. Both specialists checked in every place we were to make certain things were ok. I had some hesitations about flying into Quito because of its altitude and my asthma, so after having the whole thing planned out for us, I asked if we could do a Plan B & I would fly into Guayaquil & meet the rest of my family in Baltra to go on to the Galápagos Islands. After speaking with my pulmonologist, I decided to stay with the original plan.)
This travel company was happy to make the changes as needed. They had someone meet us & take us through customs. For me, GOOD SERVICE trumps everything. We loved our 4-star hotel in Quito( so glad we upgraded!) and our other accommodation selections. I only wish the ship could include all gratuities as they do in other services. I know I pay more upfront, but it’s just so much easier. I tipped what was recommended. I also like small ( resorts, hotels, etc. ) Our cruise has only 48 passengers but on or trip there were only 13 of us so we did have lots of help with the naturalists. In fact, all 3 places we had excellent food and service.
Forgot to add that our private guide for Quito that the tour company arranged for us, was one of the 3 best I’ve had—the top three were all Equally outstanding.
I know this answer is long but I thought so much of them that I wanted to mention them & for you to know my background for it to all be on perspective. We ended up splitting my AX Platinum fee. I know small businesses have a large percentage to pay. But this was how much I liked them. I feel a little shallow writing this but when this nightmare is over, I hope we will all get to travel again.
