Detailed Description

Experience a true odyssey on this 12-day adventure through Mediterranean antiquity. Best visited within the months of April – October, cruise through the lush waters and rich history of Greece and Turkey, where the marvels aren’t just in the past but all around you. Step within the beauty of ancient pillars and the breathtaking art of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Listen to the whispers of legends told by the earth and the ruins. Let yourself be part of the adventure and follow in the path of Odysseus.

Your odyssey begins with your arrival in Athens. The ancient steps of the city lead to the Acropolis where the Parthenon watches over the city with pride as it has for thousands of years. Tour through the contemporary and ancient history of Athens, from the modern Olympic stadium to the marbled sensation of the Acropolis. Spend a day at leisure within Athens exploring its majesty at your own pace and, if you prefer, venturing out to Delphi to visit the famed remains of the oracle. The following day you will board your cruise ship and arrive on the unparalleled shores of Mykonos, with immaculate beaches and pristine architecture showing you the classic white of the Cyclades. Along the island of Rhodes you will be able to step back in time, whether within the old city wrapped within an extraordinary castle or along the ancient hilltop where the Acropolis of Lindos stands.

Before you reach the Turkish waters you will disembark in Patmos where a fortress-like monastery towers over the island atop the cave where St. John the Divine wrote the Book of Revelation. Continue on to a Turkish shore at the island of Kusadasi. Where the remarkable Temple of Artemis once stood now only stand the remains of the powerful port city of Ephesus. Wander through the ancient city of Pergamum where the steps of the Asclepion lay, a city known for its dedication to medicine. Stand alongside the walls of Troy and see where the Trojan horse once brought down an entire city. Along the coastline of Turkey brings you to Gallipoli, one of the most well known battlefields of the First World War. Your final days in Turkey find you in Istanbul, touring through the majesty of the Byzantine and Ottoman empires. From Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, to the modern beauty and the enormity of the bazaar, you will not only travel along the footsteps of Odysseus, you will see what he saw and understand the majesty of the Mediterranean.

Luxury European Travel Review: Greece, Turkey, Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesis, Kusadashi, Mykonos, Fira

Well planned except I was not thrilled with the hotel in Istanbul. Also one more day would have been nice. The evening clerk was extremely arrogant

The last lunch in Kusadashi was not that great.

Loved the hotel in Capadoccia

In Mykonos, I would have prefered stayind in Oia instead of Fira

Review: Luxury Greece Vacation, Mykonos, Crete, Santorini, Delos, Chania, Athens, Acropolis, Constitution Square, Knossos Palace

This Greece travel company did a great job setting us up at ideal locations in Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. All were located in the central area, right near the center of each town for shopping and restaurants. The people at the hotels were really nice and everything was very organized that we did not have to worry about anything.

Greece Review, Luxury Vacation, Athens, Mykonos, Delos, Santorini, Rhodes, City Tours, Sights
Everything on our private tour to Greece was planned exactly as we had requested or was suggested by our agent of this travel company in Nyack, NY, down to the restaurant reservations. And, most everything, all transfers, guides, drivers, worked like clockwork. One small glitch regarding our guided tour of Delos, but our agent was on it, alerted us, and worked with her local agent to find us a phenomenal guide whom as a guide and an archaeologist gave us a fabulous, insightful tour.Overall, a very memorable trip to Athens, Mykonos, Delos, Santorini, and Rhodes!

Review: Anniversary Vacation in Greece, Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, Delos, Knossos Palace, Acropolis Tour, Catamaran Cruise

We booked a 2 week vacation to Greece with this agent and travel company for the end of May.   Our travel agent helped us plan the perfect vacation for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was the most incredible trip, more than we could ever have imagined! She planned accommodations, excursions and tours at each place we visited that highlighted each place.  We started our trip in Athens for 3 nights, Crete 3 nights, Mykonos 3 nights and Santorini for 4 nights.

We were met promptly at the Athens airport by our driver taken to our Hotel in Athens where we were met by our agent personally to give us all of our tickets and instructions for our stay in Greece. As well she gave us a cell phone programmed with her number and the travel agency in case we had any issues during our time in Greece.

We stayed at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens at a wonderful boutique hotel. Our trip started with a private tour(highly recommend)  of the Archeological museum of Athens ,the Acropolis and the area surrounding. Truly specials and unforgettable! A romantic dinner at a beautiful restaurant in the center of Athens.  Watching the sun set on the Acropolis with all of Athens at our feet...stunning. A free day to explore a bit of the ancient and beautiful city then onto Crete.

We were met by a delightful young man, who was our guide for all 3 days on this amazing island. Wine tours, Palace of King Mynos at Knossos, ancient cities Rhethmynon and Chania, beautiful beaches and stunning views. We fell in love with Crete.

Then Mykonos. A beautiful little jewel of an island with beautiful beaches and ancient cities once attacked by pirates. A romantic dinner, tour of the island of Delos (incredible!) and getting lost in the maze of streets that make up Mykonos town.

Then onto Santorini. A jewel in the beauty of the Aegean Sea. Stunning hotel on the cliffs with a view that you never tired of, wine tours, a full day Catamaran sail to beaches and the Caldera ending with a magnificent sunset at Land's End. Santorini was the cherry on top of the trip. Truly a stunning island.

And everywhere we went the friendly, hospitable and welcoming Greek people.  We can't say enough on how well orchestrated this trip was. We had flawless connections, over-the-top accommodations, incredible guides, amazing excursions that did not disappoint at any of our island visits.  "More than we could have ever imagined" is how we describe this trip to friends and family.  We highly recommend this company and the travel agent who planned a trip exactly to fit us personally.

Thank you Zicasso for your stellar travel agents and fantastic job of Jackie who paired us up with such great agents to choose from.

Travel Review: Luxury Turkey and Greece Tour, Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, Mykonos, Athens,...

The entire trip was extremely well organized from start to finish...I especially enjoyed the expertise and camaraderie we had with Faruk, our very knowledgeable Turkish guide. Not only was he a veritable font of historical detail and information at all the sites we visited but he also went out of his way to go the extra mile...we felt really well taken care of...He took us to a part of Istanbul off the tourist track where we ate in a local restaurant which was fascinating because we felt like we were in the real Istanbul, not another tourist around as far as we could see. We sat by a window and watched all the street activity while we enjoyed a typical Turkish meal. When I mentioned to Faruk that I had hoped to be able to buy a small rug but was intimidated by the whole process, he took me to a store where I ultimately bought a small rug. When it came time to leave for the Greek part of our trip and bid our Turkish guide goodbye, my son and I felt happy for the experiences he had ushered us through so capably but also sad because we felt we were saying goodbye to a good friend.

I'm glad we squeezed Greece in there at the end. It was short but very satisfying...one day and one night on Mykonos for the island experience and one day and the last two nights in Athens...the hotel on Mykonos was by far the coolest hotel we stayed at. I felt so special sipping my welcoming glass of wine on the lounge chair near the infinity pool which overlooked the Aegean. The manager couldn't have been warmer and more engaging. When we asked where we could get a bite to eat, he recommended a charming little restaurant on the beach right down the street from the hotel where I had tzatzikis (a yogurt and cucumber dip) with warm pitas, lightly deep-fried veggies and a Greek salad. The day in Athens was wonderful too. I would be remiss not to mention our charming drivers, both Theo and Hercules (where else can you find names like that?!)...and our able guide, Costas. Even though we only spent about four hrs. with him, he provided us with spectacular views and historical perspectives at each place we visited.

Review: Greece & Turkey Anniversary Trip, Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Oia, Kusadasi, Heraklion, Patmos, Catamaran Cruise

We had the most amazing 25th anniversary trip to Greece! Thanks to our travel agent from this travel company, everything was like clockwork.  She understood what we wanted and customized the trip where we didn't worry about anything.  From the moment we landed in Athens, we felt like VIP. The private tours, transportations in between locations and the staff was worth every penny. Our focus was historical architecture, food, seeing Athens, Mykonos and being in Santorini on the day of our anniversary.  Being at the tail end of Greece's tourist season, some ferries may not be reliable.  So instead, she recommended a cruise to island hop instead of taking ferries.  We met a couple that regretted taking the 6 hrs ferry from Athens to Santorini and wished they did what our travel agent recommended. Taking everything into consideration, she recommended 3d land excursions in Athens, 3d cruise visiting Mykonos, Kusadasi, Heraklion, Patmos and disembarking in Santorini for another 3d relaxing at heaven in Oia.  She also arranged a sunset catamaran cruise on the day of our anniversary and visited wineries overlooking the Aegean Sea.  I highly recommend this company and even with the time difference, all this was made possible via emails and a couple of pre-arranged phone calls at convenient times for both of us.  Thank you so much to our travel agent! We have high expectations and are a picky couple.  You have definitely exceeded our expectations!  Yamas!!!
