Us? Well traveled octogenarians.
Trip? Southern Italy, including Lecce, Alberobello, Bari, Positano and Sorrento and surrounding areas in each location. Planning and execution? wonderful.
It starts with the willingness of an experienced planner willing to understand why his clients have seen enough traditional touring sites and want to forego what many want to experience (done) then figure out an itinerary that will satisfy their desires (done) recogniizing that even reasonably well conditioned folks in their eighties aren't as nimble as they used to be.
Flexibilty? Even on the trip, recognizing that a relationship formed with a local driver might change a planned day trip.
Hotels/B and B's? Outstanding, even with the steps climbed daily to our Alberobello B and B.
Small group scheduling? Wonderful (we lucked out. Only 2 people in a cookng class AND on the Amalfi cruise).
Overall experience? Delightful!! Wife's comment? How someone we've never met could plan such a trip just by written and verbal contact is a credit to him and the travel agency. Thank you to our travel planner.
Outstanding happpenings? Drivers (all except one , and that's not the agency's fault), guides (our Matera guide was a delight and knew Matera inside out) hotels, food (we use TA and local's suggestions), Matera (do not miss this), Giovinazzi, Amalfi sunset cruise, Sorrento cooking class, Capri boat tour, and the overall coordination and timeliness of the trip and how easy our trip planner's planning made it work.
Would we use Zicasso again. Yes...and do we recommend our travel agency... for sure...and our trip planner,of course.
P.S. Go off season. The area hais been found.

~~The trip was fabulous!!!
I had been to Italy a few years ago on a bus tour with 90 people. So for this trip after finding this travel company I knew where I wanted to go but didn't know where to stay or how to get around and I didn't want to go with another tour group. This trip was planned over a 2 week period with emails that I sent back and forth to our agent. He was an amazing travel agent and even though there was a 7 hour time delay between our locations he responded back to me faster than any travel agent that I had used in the states. So here is my review of the itinerary that he planned for us. We did make our own air reservations and sent the information to our agent and he had the transportation waiting for us.
The transportation was excellent. The water taxi from the Venice airport to our hotel was amazing. The driver showed us places along the way where he used to jump off of when he was a kid. We were always on time and the transfers from the train to getting the car were so easy. There was always someone waiting at the end of the train platform with our name. The pickups from the hotel were also on time and the drivers extremely courteous and would show us the sites on the way. When we arrived and had to walk to the hotels it was close to the train station and not at all hard to find.
The hotels that were selected for us were right in the heart of the cities/areas that we visited: Venice 2 days, Florence 3 days, Sorrento 3 days, Rome 3 days. All the hotels were very clean, the bathrooms were recently renovated, and the staff was very helpful whenever we needed a recommendation for a restaurant or directions they had a map and showed us where to go. We stayed in the 3 star hotels which are quite small compared to US standards but for the savings in price it was perfect for my daughter and I. If my husband would have gone he wouldn't have fit in any of the showers being that he is 6'2". Also the view from the hotel rooms were obstructed but we were never in the room except to sleep so it was not an issue for us. When we were in Rome the hotel receptionist apologized for the size of the room when he knew we were from the US, he was so nice, and actually that room wasn’t the smallest that we stayed in. The one in Sorrento was smaller, but they had a beautiful balcony with a fabulous view of the ocean.
The private tours were excellent in Rome (Vatican City – Colosseum – Palatino), Florence walking tour and Venice walking tour. The guides took us to places that were not seen by many tourists along with the main sites in the area. We were so pleased with every one of them. I can’t say enough about how great they are!! This was the best part of the trip and I’m so glad we had this experience instead of being herded around with the receivers hanging around our neck.
-The Tuscany bus tour was good in the morning, San Gimniano, and the wine tasting at noon was excellent, but the afternoon of Sienna and the castle were quite boring, it was also pouring rain so maybe that had something to do with it. I thought there would be more wine tasting and maybe a tour of how they made the wine, so I’m thinking I didn’t give enough information to pick the best tour. The tour guide on the bus was good but she kept having to change from English to French which got annoying and the microphone on the bus wasn’t working' so we really couldn’t hear her since we were seated in the back of the bus. -The Capri tour was not very good because of the tour guide who did nothing but keep giving us times that we had to meet with him, he really didn’t do any tour guide stuff except show us a map of the island then we were on our own. It also cost extra to take the chair lift up to Ana Capri which was awesome and I’m glad we went. But we also had to pay for the boat ride around Capri and they put so many of us on the boat that we were stuck inside and really couldn’t see much of the island so that wasn’t worth it at all.
-The Pompeii tour with our guide was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable and gave a lot of information on the bus ride and the microphone was working and only English was spoken. Then the tour through Pompeii was excellent once we got through all the lines. Our tickets were paid for and taken care of but none of the other people on the bus had tickets so we had to wait while everyone (about 40 people) stood in line behind other bus tours to purchase theirs before starting the tour.
The amount of time that we spent in each of the locations was perfect, not too little and not too much. Compared to my last trip to Italy this was the way to go we went at our pace and we did do a lot of walking. I would definitely recommend this company to any of my friends and family. We were so lucky to find this agency.

Our experience with this Italy travel agency was incredible! From the beginning, they were easy to work with and helped us make the greatest vacation. Every hotel we stayed at had great service, great rooms, and were all four star hotels. Our travel agency also provided all of our transportation to every city we stayed at in Italy. From the airport to our hotels, to our tours, and the train station to every city. Every driver that came to pick us up from the hotel and the train station were all very pleasant people to talk to and made you feel welcomed. Our agency did a Fantastic job with picking out all of our tour guides. We Loved ALL of our tour guides!! Each tour guide brought their own opinion and their personality to the tour, and we LOVED the fact that is was private! Each tour guide told us neat little things about each city we were staying at. Here are a few examples:
Get lost in Venice. You are on an island and you never know what you might find.Restaurants that have more than one language and/or are located in very touristy areas are made for tourist. If you are interested in trying real authentic food from that city, try going the next street behind the tourist areas or a few blocks down from tourist areas, to find some really, reasonable, quiet local restaurants. How to tell the difference between traditional gelato and other gelato's. Traditional gelato will melt in about 3 miuntes and are kept in a sealed container. Other gelato's you will find a mound of them on display and have a lot of different flavors. Our travel agent was fantastic! We actually got to meet him during our food tour, which we strongly recommend everyone should do when visiting Rome! The food tour was the perfect way to end our visit in Rome. From the wine tasting to the fantastic local restaurant food, was to die for!
Thank you Zicasso and this travel agent for making our first visit to Italy an unforgettable one!

The vacation that this travel agent planned for us in south Italy to Ischia, Capri and Positano was FABULOUS! He organized it exactly as we wanted, with just the right amount of leisure days and tour days. All of the transfers were taken care of, and the drivers and tour guides were great. We didn't have to worry about any taxis, buses, or additional costs. The people who greeted us were so friendly and helpful. the hotels he recommended were TOP NOTCH! The rooms were clean and the views from the balconies were AMAZING! The staff was so attentive, the breakfast food was excellent. The hotels looked just like their photos on the internet! Overall, it was an amazing trip. All the providers that this travel agency contracted with did an great job, and we were very relaxed to have it all taken care of for us. Our travel agency sent us a welcome gift to our hotel in Capri, so we sat and enjoyed the champagne on our hotel balcony while enjoying the view. Our agent was very responsive to all my questions regarding recommendations on tipping. The service was unbelievable.

What an amazing experience. From start to finish, our travel company was wonderful. Our agent was on top of things from the very beginning and really "listened" to us to plan the trip of a lifetime. The communication between us was wonderful and quick and he knew just what we were looking for. Even when we made a few additions/changes, he was patient and attentive. The trip was indescribable. The hotels were beautiful and accommodating and the transfer drivers were all on time and professional. We traveled to many different areas and had a number of transfers, train rides and hotels. Each one was planned perfectly. Our agent knew just when to leave some time for relaxing (i.e. shopping) and touring. The tour guides were fantastic and knowledgeable and never looked at their watch once. We had private tours throughout for just my husband and I and the guides were happy to show us their favorite gelato store along the way to the next site. The personal attention was wonderful. I was able to contact our agent throughout the trip via whats app or email if I needed anything or wanted a restaurant suggestion. He was always available and responsive. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to take the guesswork out of travel and get the most out of their Italian experience. We traveled to Venice, Florence, Siena, Positano, Pompeii and Rome. Amazing!
