We had an incredible trip to Japan. This travel agent planned it with our input and was careful to include all of our special requests. Our English speaking guides and assistants were just wonderful; informative, friendly and delightful to spend our days with learning about Japan.
We enjoyed our hotels; the hotels in Tokyo, Hakone, and Kyoto were all wonderful. The hotel on Miyajima island was just ok. We saw other rooms that were lovely but ours was not one of those. We let our travel specialist know and while he tried to get us moved the hotel was full. Not a game changer for sure.

Fabulous trip! This travel company put together a very thoughtful 17 day itinerary for my wife and me. It was our first trip to the country and we wanted to see temples, shrines and do some hiking. Our travel planner arranged a trip that focused mainly on Kyoto and outskirts but included time in Hakone, Ugi, and Kanazawa. He blended: a) stays in three traditional inns with time in conventional hotels, b) several days with personal guides with days by ourselves, and c) days that were very planned and full with ones that were more open. We're not used to using a travel company for our vacations-- prefer to make our own plans--but the trip this company arranged for us resulted in our experiencing much more of Japan than we would have on our own, and was well worth the money. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged. For example, when our travel planner made hotel and restaurant reservations, we had great views, were seated next to the falls, overlooking the river, etc. We'd highly recommend this company to anyone going to Japan.

Japan is beautiful, the people are friendly and helpful and polite. Their public transport system must be the envy of the world, from the Shinkansen bullet train down to local intracity buses. We asked our travel agency to craft a highly custom trip that emphasized culture and gardens. Our travel specialist worked all our requests into an itinerary that took us through Okayama, Kurashiki, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Kameoka, Kanazawa, and Takayama with very little time in Tokyo. This was a tour of great ancient cities. Two days in Takayama coincided with the annual Spring float festival, and it was crowded, but not unpleasantly so.
