Detailed Description

Romance flutters down the lanes of Barcelona, and it weaves a path along the cobblestone, entering tapas and cocktail bars along the way. Down the Mediterranean it goes, as yachts wade in the harbor as golden beaches cascade onwards. Out of the city, this romance seeks some privacy, and you will be able to find it on mountains beneath the stars and vineyards that are hidden from the world. Barcelona is a city that can morph around your mood and there is always another place where you will find the romantic atmosphere take hold. One night that may be an Arabic spa, and the next night it could be Palau de la Musica Catalana where Spanish music echoes around the finest of all Modernist structures.

Handcrafted with the most romantic experiences Barcelona has to offer, this ten-day vacation is designed just for two. There is plenty of time to explore the city at your leisure, from getting lost in Barri Gotic to drinking cocktails on rooftop bars and spending time at the beach. The experiences are varied and designed to be fun, including a day trip to the Penedes wine region, hot air ballooning above Catalonia, a Spanish cooking class, and nighttime tapas. Restaurant reservations ensure you get a table at Barcelona’s most special places to dine while a private picnic provides another angle on the city.

Touch down and overcome the travel fatigue by spending your first evening in an Arabic spa. Spend day two on a private boat tour, sailing the Catalan coast with drinks and snacks before dining at the incredibly intimate Tintoreria Dontell. You will be amazed at the entrance to this fine dining restaurant is disguised as a launderette. Get to know the old city as you walk hand in hand through Barri Gotic on day three, which is followed by a hands-on Spanish cooking class that takes you through tapas and paella. Food is always a highlight in Barcelona, and on day four you will have a picnic that overlooks the city before some free time which could be perfect for the beach.

A Barcelona vacation is not complete without Gaudi and Montaner, which are the great exponents of Catalan art nouveau. Tour the essential architecture on day five before getting lost in the warren-like lanes of El Born on your tapas tour. Five days will have gone by in a flash but you are only halfway, and there is plenty to explore beyond the city. Visit Penedes on day six, which is the home of Cava sparkling wine that will provide an idyllic place to make a toast and sample some of Spain’s best white wines. On day seven, you sail above Catalonia in a hot air balloon, perhaps with a little street music to serenade you into the evening.

The final two days are left free, and by then you will have some personal favorites within Barcelona. That could be a quiet beach like Bogatell, the atmospheric corridors of La Boqueria, or a sunset view from Montjuic. On day eight, a driver takes you to Montserrat for a special mountaintop dinner beneath the stars. For day nine, you will experience a Spanish guitar concert in the finest Modernist building of them all: Palau de la Musica Catalana. All of this will be topped off by your handpicked hotel where there is a private swimming pool on your terrace, plus all the seclusion you need for romance to thrive. Extend your time in this remarkable region with additional Spain travel ideas.

Planning a vacation for two couples with different desires is difficult.   This tour company was patient and provided an enormous amount of time and support to recommend and find the best hotels and tours for a fantastic vacation.  We were constantly updated with tour and transport times.  There were demonstrations in Barcelona during our trip and they modified the tours to ensure our trip was seamless.  Never felt alone while in Spain.

Luxury Portugal & Spain Tour Review: Madrid, Barcelona, San Sebastian, Lisbon, 12-Night Trip
Ana and her group put together a wonderful trip for our two couples to Spain and Portugal. We visited Madrid, Barcelona, San Sabastian and Lisbon. Every arrangement was flawless, from hotel selections, drivers, and restaurant reservations. Every hotel was memorable and special. All drivers were on time.   Perhaps the best arrangements were the various guides who took us around to the local attractions. All were very knowledgeable, personable, and fun to be with for hours. Some of these guides work with other agents, but one made a point of saying that Ana’s group was not like most in that they are constantly asking for updates to make sure her clients are treated well and enjoying their time. Highly recommended.

Travel Review: Luxury Spain Tour, Barcelona, Girona, Besalu, Madrid, Cordoba, Granada, Alhambra, Prado, Reina Sofia, Gaudi Tour

Sometimes you get very lucky using the internet to find superior and value-added service providers. Such was the case when Zicasso introduced us to this travel company and its Chairman. Never having visited Spain before and looking for a higher class customized trip for 2 couples we found this agency to be the perfect solution. After summarizing our vacation objectives, our agent provided us with a detailed and flexible trip plan that was spot on. As we got closer to our departure date more detailed information about what to see, where to eat, etc. was provided. We received prompt and responsive answers to our questions. Hotels were excellent and strategically located. Our drivers were always on time, congenial and courteous. Each tour guide selected in each city we visited (Barcelona, Girona, Besalu, Madrid, Cordova, Sevilla, Teledo, and Nerja) were highly experienced, extraordinarily knowledgeable, passionate about their work and the history of the country, and fun to be with. None of this could have occurred without the attention to detail, responsiveness, and effort to go above and beyond the typical tourist guide experience that was provided by our agent. For anyone seeking a truly superior tour guide company and a beyond expectations vacation experience in Spain and Portugal you must contact this company. The result of all of the above was a truly spectacular and memorable experience. We are hoping to go next to the northern region of Spain and are very pleased that we will know who to contact for that trip.

Travel Review: Spain Vacation, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada, Toledo, Cordoba, Mosque of Cordoba, Alhambra, 13-Day Trip
The travel company set up a perfectly planned itinerary for our trip to Spain. My travel specialist & I spoke on the phone before the planning & he listened to where I wanted to go & what I wanted to see. I probably would not have included Toledo or Cordoba but so glad both of these cities were included as day trips as each one had amazing architecture and history. Our guide in Cordoba was a walking, talking encyclopedia. Our visit with him to Mezquita de Cordoba was so impressive and his extensive knowledge of the history of this famous Mosque-Cathedral kept us tuned in. He commented that travelers who were not using guides did not know what they were missing. I agree 100%. Just a little bit about the private transportation, guides & rail arrangements. Wherever we were to meet a driver they were always there before we arrived. Professional, cordial & English speaking, each one a pleasure to meet. Our guides were all so knowledgeable and made note of things we would have missed without them. Our other guide took us through Toledo & Madrid when she pointed out the Cardinals hats hanging above the tombs in the Toledo Cathedral I was amazed, that was a first for me & probably would have missed it. Seville was a lovely city, easy to get lost all thewinding remote streets. I would advise to stay central or in the Triana district. Granada! I'm under your spell.....My granddaughter, age 26 & I fell in love with Granada. Warm ,friendly, Alhambra, Sierra Nevada mountains & the Albaicin district a truly beautiful city. We wish we were there longer and would love to go back. Our final stop was Barcelona and it did not disappoint. Our Hotel was the perfect location and we felt safe when on our own. We were within a block of Passeig de Gracia the famous high end shopping district. We had four full days and did see everything we planned to see, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Gaudi's Casa Batillo, Picasso Museum, Magic Fountain & more. The food and hospitality was excellent in each city. Spain is not lacking for restaurants. Our two week trip was well planned and yet relaxing.I want to personally thank our travel specialist from the travel company for checking in each day asking if everything was ok and providing the names and numbers of the drivers & guides. Did this trip meet our expectations? For Sure.
