Quito – Arriving in an Ancient City

The old city of Quito leaves history hanging from balconies and courtyards. Located in a compact central area, you'll find the largest collection of Spanish colonial buildings anywhere in South America. Church domes glimmer with their 16th century Moorish roots, historic bishops' palaces have been converted into shopping and dining arcades while pastel-colored streets mingle five centuries of tales. After landing at Quito International, you'll be greeted by your guide and transferred to a hotel in the old city. Check-in and relax. The whole area is very safe and easy to walk as a family.

We absolutely loved our trip to Quito, Mindo, and the Galápagos Islands with Zicasso's travel agency! The travel agent and her team put together the perfect itinerary for us, with lots of fun surprises along the way. This was one of the best trips of our lives, all thanks to this travel agency. They covered every detail and remained in communication throughout, so we felt comfortable navigating a new country. I can't recommend them enough!

Luxury Galapagos Islands & Ecuador Vacation Review: Jungle, Ocean Cruise, Wildlife
We were totally pleased with the trip set up for us by the travel company.  As we arrived in Quito Ecuador at midnight, there was a representative from the company at the end of the jetway to take us through immigration and customs and to get us on the shuttle to the nearby hotel. The hotel at the airport was clean and modern, with a wonderful buffet selection for breakfast (included in our room rate).Back at the airport, the representative from the lodge met us as we walked into the terminal and had our tickets and boarding information for our flight to Coca.  There we were met by our naturalist guide, taken to their local office to refresh, and then the 90 minute ride down the Rio Napo to the lodge. The lodge was first class.  Wonderful rooms, food, excursions, etc.  It far exceeded our expectations for living in the jungle for 4 days.  Our Naturalist Guide and the local expert were a great team and made sure we saw most of what the jungle had to offer.Back in Quito, we spent the night at the hotel - an old hacienda renovated and brought up to modern specs.  The two llamas roaming the grounds were quite the greeting party.Again, we were met at the airport by the representative of the local tour agency with our tickets and documentation for going to the Galapagos Islands.  The 5 days on the ship were incredible.  A wonderful, professional crew, first class accommodations, and really good food.  The excursions were varied and gave us a nice introduction to the Islands.  Our Naturalist was so knowledgeable and she knew were to take us to see the best wildlife.  The giant tortoises were saved for our last outing, and they did not disappoint.Once again, Zicasso and your partners have provided me with a memorable experience that fulfilled a lifetime dream.Paul P.

Peru, Galapagos / Ecuador Vacation Review: Lima, Amazon, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco, Quito

We just returned from a trip to Peru and the Galapagos Islands. We visited Lima, the Amazon, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco, with an overnight stay in Quito.

The Zicasso-recommended travel agency created the perfect itinerary for us. All of the transitioning from place to place was seamless, the hotels were beautiful, the recommendations for restaurants were great, and the guides we had were amazing. They were so enthusiastic and willing to share their knowledge about past and current history. We were so impressed with our travel agency that we are already considering our next journey with them.

We recently returned from an incredible journey through Peru, The Galapagos Islands and a visit to Quito, Ecuador! From our first communications with our tour operator we knew that they would be a perfect fit for planning our time in South America! We were very impressed with their response time and attention to detail while arranging our itinerary. Our trip was thoughtfully planned out and very well organized. Exceptional quality of service and attention to detail considering all the moving parts from flights, transportation, hotels, sightseeing and guides throughout our trip. To include, booking our 3 night/4 day Inca Trail hike with a local outfitter and our 4 night/5 day Galapagos cruise. We were very pleased with our beautiful accommodations throughout our travels. All of our guides were top notch, professional knowledgeable and very friendly! Throughout our travels the tour operator checked in with us to make sure everything was going as planned. Galapagos / Ecuador Tour Review: Galapagos, Amazon, Cuenca, Baños, 18-Night Trip
Our Zicasso tour operator listened carefully and fulfilled all our requests. Our hotels were lovely and special. The restaurants were amazing. My only advice is that on the final night, it would have been easier to stay at the airport than to go back to Quito.

Galapagos / Ecuador Travel Review: Quito, Cotopaxi, Cloud Forest, Local Cuisine, 10-Day Tour

We had a very nice trip to Quito, Ecuador, and the Galapagos Islands. The people in Quito were very friendly and we felt very safe. We were initially concerned based on what we saw in the media, but Zicasso's travel agency checked with the hotel and guides, and said all was fine. We are glad we listened and went on the trip.

Our guide was excellent and we spent four days touring around Quito, Cotopaxi, the cloud forest, and Otavalo Market. Then we flew to Galapagos and went on a four-night cruise. It was an amazing experience seeing sea turtles, sea lions, penguins, sharks, and giant tortoises. The landscapes were beautiful and we got some great pictures on our nature walks. The crew and guide in the Galapagos were top-notch. The meals on the boat were fabulous as well. Make sure you are physically able to do long walks, sometimes on rough terrain, and go snorkeling, as they kept us busy multiple times per day. We highly recommend visiting Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.
