South Africa, Botswana & Zimbabwe Luxury Travel Review: Cape Town, Kruger National Park, Okavango Delta, Wildlife, 2-Week Trip
Neil did an awesome job curating our 2-week trip. He helped us to minimize the travel time from Cape Town to our camp in Botswana (and onward to Zimbabwe and then back into Kruger Park area in SA).  Saw all the big animals in both Botswana and SA ... guides at "and Beyond" in Okavango Delta and in the game reserve in Sabi Sand respectfully were outstanding!

Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia & South Africa Review, Luxury Africa Safari, Nairobi, Serengeti, Cape Town, Tarangire National Park

You could not have planned the trip better. It was fantastic! Our safari driver from Rangers was great - again could not of been better. He pushed every day for us to see everything possible. Hes fun and incredibly knowledgeable and has a great command of the English language. You were right to schedule one day in Nairobi - so glad we did not change it to two days. We saw the last of the Big 5 - the black rhino in Kenya. We loved all of our accommodations and the people are so friendly, polite and helpful. We saw the Great Migration in Tanzania. We would not of changed one thing. People from other tour agencies were dissapointed that when they arrived in Kenya when we did as all of the Wildebeest had already migrated to Tanzania. What you scheduled for us was perfect. I do think that Tanzania is not well known but Kenya is to the average American like us. If it wasn't for you we would of never known about Tanzania. Tanzania has it all - except the black rhino at the Govenor's Camp- no need to even go to Kenya but I did want to go the the Elephant and Giraffe orphanages. We loved Capetown, the shark cage trip and the tour operator was wonderful. The 1/2 day Capetown trip was great. We went on the historic Capetown walking tour at 11:00 after we checked out. We added the Olduvai museum at the crater to our trip.  We had a wonderful time and saw so much in 17 days including traveling from the East Coast;  Arusha, Tarangire National park,  Ngorongoro crater, Central Serengeti - Turner Springs, Norther Serengeti - Kokatonde, Masai - Mara, Nairobi, Victoria Falls and Capetown. A trip of a lifetime.

Review: Luxury Africa Safari, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Chobe Game Lodge, Lions Sands Ivory Lodge, Okavango Delta

WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING!

Making a Safari in Africa was on the top of my bucket list and I wanted to do it “in style”. We also wanted a company who was located in Africa and who had established a good infrastructure. We hoped to avoid delays between inter-camps on the small planes.

All this was fulfilled by this safari travel company. They designed a programme for us where we were eased into safari life beginning with Chobe Game Lodge, then onto our first tent experience at Xakanaxa, then onto Okavango delta area for a water and walking safari experience. Our agent then organsed our trip to Cape Town and a sojourn to Hermanus by private car and then flew us back to the stupendous Lions Sands Ivory Lodge in Kruger. Of special mention in Hermanus is the charming Ocean Eleven B&B. The location, room and the breakfast spread deserve special mention.

Throughout our trip, all accommodation was wonderful, staff, game wardens and trackers most knowledgeable and kind, all transfers seamless (so we didn’t miss any game drives), the private car service for the Cape experience was excellent .. and of course, the animals.

On Safari, one expects to see many animals. Well, in the 4 lodges/camps that we stayed, we saw elephants, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, jackal, spotted wild dogs, buffaloes, rhinos, impalas, kudus, sable, bush bucks, nyalas, waterbuck, wildebeest, giraffe, zebras, hippos, warthogs, baboons, small animals like banded mongoose, crocodiles and countless species of birds and the beautiful African frog. And then the whales in Hermanus

We stayed at : Chobe Game Lodge (3N), Xakanaxa Camp (2N), Okavango (Delta) Camp (2N) all in Botswana, Ocean Eleven B&B @ Hermanus (2N), Ivory Lodge, Lions Sands in Kruger, S.Africa (2N). We also had 3 nights in Cape Town and an over-nighter at Johannesburg.

We confidently recommend this company to anyone who is considering a Safari. On a scale of 1-5, we would give them the full 5 points.

Review: Africa Safari, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Chobe National Park, Okavango Delta, Cape Town, Victoria Falls

Absolutely awesome experience – better than we imagined! We spent time in Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta and Cape Town. The service, guides, lodgings and experiences we had in each location were exceptional. This safari travel company and our travel planner made everything easy – we were greeted each step of the way, enabling us to enjoy our African adventure without the normal stress of traveling in another country. In Zimbabwe, we experienced majestic Victoria Falls both from the air and a guided tour through the park. We enjoyed a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River. Our room at the Ilala Lodge was picture perfect and comfortable, plus we could see the mist rising from the falls. In Chobe National Park, we went on numerous game drives and boat tour with a dedicated guide. The Ngoma Safari Lodge was the most visually extravagant place we ever stayed.  The view walking into the lodge literally takes your breath away as you look down at the Chobe River with herds of zebras, giraffes and antelopes moving between a small watering hole close to Ngoma Lodge and the river. Combine that with great location to Chobe National Park, exceptional guides, thoughtful and well-trained staff, delicious dinners and wonderful rooms with incredible views and you have the perfect safari location. In the Okavango Delta we saw so much wildlife (inlcuding a numerous lions and African Wild dogs and their pups) and were again blessed with wonderful guides, great staff, and lovely rooms in an amazing location at Sable Alley in the Khwai Reserve. Cape Town gave us an opportunity to relax at the boutique hotel and enjoy winery tours and a peninsula tour, as well as amazing restaurants.

Originally, I tried to work out an itinerary myself using online review and travel books, but became concerned about arranging transportation and guides. Then I contacted several different travel agencies. This travel planner quickly responded. She made everything easy for us. She worked with us on locations, desired experiences, dates and cost. We really wanted to see Botswana’s Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta. Two other companies were trying to steer us away those areas due to cost and availability, but our travel planner was able to make it happen for us. She took care of absolutely everything from lodging, car and in-Africa air travel, tours, guides, and even restaurant reservations for us in Cape Town. Amazing personalized service.

This company makes you feel very pampered and special. Our travel planner made time to meet us in Victoria Falls (her home base). In honor of our 30th wedding anniversary, the travel company surprised us with a complimentary dinner and bottle of wine at our Victoria Falls hotel, which had one of the best restaurants in Victoria Falls.

Luxury South Africa Safari Review: Cape Town, Phinda Private Game Reserve, Sabi Sands Game Reserve, History & Culture, Johannesburg
Booked Through this travel company - Our trip plannerThis trip was our first ever travel to Africa, and with that came some high expectations for that "expected" National Geographic experience that one sees on TV, or in the movies (The Ghost and the Darkness).  Nervousness and excitement all rolled into one, and how would it turn out?  What transpired for our family was the most memorable trip we have ever taken and along the way we fell in love with Africa.  To put it simply, across 13 days and 12 nights, our family cannot think of one single negative experience, not a single one.  Every step of the way our expectations were exceeded from a trip experience perspective. As we began the scheduling the travel company (our trip planner) was flexible as we worked out our planned itinerary.  After seeing the first draft, we literally requested to invert the entire plan, and they accommodated and provided a stellar plan.  At each location, the drivers/guides were extremely personable and friendly.  They even soon found our likes/dislikes and were catering to our tastes quickly without any input from us.The accommodations at EVERY stop were simply amazing, awe inspiring, and beyond 5 Star.  The gracious hospitality provided at each location was warm and friendly.  The accommodations, 4 separate locations, during our travels were absolutely perfect for our family's taste and style.  Just to add to the experience, upon arrival at two of the four locations, we were informed of receiving double upgrades for our stay.  In this aspect, we wouldn't change a single thing in our itinerary as it relates to our accommodations.  Our Travel Company just simply nailed this one to perfection. Now that we've briefly covered our guides/drivers and lodging, the experience itself was a daily WOW beyond expectations.  Approximately 11 safari expeditions (early mornings & late afternoon into the evenings) during those days of our trip left us speechless each day.  On our last safari, on our last morning, before we headed from the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve to Cape Town, we saw 4 of the Big 5 in the first 90 minutes of the morning.  We didn't just catch them in passing, we saw them in their own natural glory.  It was a National Geographic just got topped moment.  In particular at both the Phinda Private Game Reserve and Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, we didn't just meet our guides, trackers, and drivers; we met and made friendships.  When those portions of the trip ended, it wasn't just a handshake and the passing of a tip to say thank you, no, it was hugs, tears, exchanging of emails and numbers, and more hugs.  The experience they gave us will more than last a lifetime, we purchased art that hangs on our wall that just brings the experience flooding back to mind.  From the Game Reserve perspective, we can't look back and wish we would have seen "X" or "Y".  We saw it all, and we saw it closer than you can possibly imagine and then we saw even more. Our trip wasn't just all about "the bush", but also about history and culture, and learning and embracing the history.  Imagine viewing two homes, 500 feet apart in a section of South Africa that two Noble Peace Prize Winners began their start!  Looking at the cell, the actual cell, for the better part of the 27 years that was the home to the future President of South Africa.  Taking in a beyond amazing and stunning sunset from the mountain top overlooking Cape Town and have our guide pull out a picnic basket and champagne to toast the event.  Took what is one of my favorite pictures at that location, as mother and son stand next to each other appearing as shadows as they gaze upon the bright orange glow sunset.......so relaxing, so peaceful. Our thanks and appreciation to this travel company and our planner, as they selected the perfect accommodations and friends to guide us through our experience.  Each travel stop, each transportation move, each experience..............all went perfectly.  Then just as we realized our son left an ear bud in the sheets at one of our stops, they found it and shipped it home for us. This trip has us wanting to go back again and experience more.  Sometimes you say, "been there, done that".  Not with Africa, too much beauty and friendships not to return.

Travel Review: Africa Safari, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kruger National Park, Cape Town, Okavango Delta, Wine Tours

We booked, what we thought would be the trip of a lifetime.  It was so fabulous in reality, that we think we need to go again!  We had turned almost all of the trip over to our travel agency to plan for us, giving them only a minimal outline of what we would like to see.  They planned the trip and only with a few minor changes (e.g. add a day for a wine tour in the Cape) we booked.  Frankly, we were a little nervous about placing a high level of trust in a company we only knew via Zicasso and the internet, but it was trust well placed and rewarded.  Our trip consisted of 3 days at Cape Town, a few nights at Londolozi in Sabi Sands/Kruger, a day at Victoria Falls, a few days at Chobe Game Lodge on the Chobe River, a few days at Savute, and the last few days in the Okavango Delta at Xugana Island Lodge.  Almost 3 weeks in total. All logistics were seamless with no problems whatsoever despite numerous hand offs and transports.
