Romantic African Safaris for Couples

The trip was wonderful  with great hotels, safaris and the transfers were flawlessly executed.  The staff at the hotel in Cape Town was incredibly helpful when we needed a doctor.  The African people were wonderful and welcoming and the safaris are a once in a lifetime experience.

The agent provided good facilitation but there was a  lack of communication and discussion of options.

Lack of communication especially regarding our return journey and lack of a comprehensive review of the options offered at various locations resulted in additional costs by paying for one activity at one location when it was included at another location later in our trip.

Direct flight from Kasane (Botswana) to Johannesburg was booked on our departure day.  We were not advised nor given the option to leave on another day when the direct flight may have been available.  As a result, the return journey was challenging with 2 water transfers, numerous land transfers and immigration check points incurring additional expense.  Also,  we had to buy a second Kaza visa ($100 cash) just to go to Livingston airport.  We had previously bought the same visa but because we went to Botswana and were re-entering Zambia, they required a new visa.  None of this was discussed nor outlined in our itinerary.

We are experienced travelers and know that things can go wrong on your journey.  However, I prefer to know about potential issues and options that may mitigate the outcome.

What a fantastic trip! It was so well organized and planned, we were able to just relax and enjoy our vacation. It was a one-month journey to Africa, visiting Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. We always felt taken care of.

The safari portion of our trip could not have been more perfect. We were able to see the animals from very near on night drives and bush walks, with very few other jeeps to disturb the environment. The private concessions are an amazing way to truly experience the animals.

We also explored Cape Town on a number of fantastic private tours. We watched the southern right whales off the coast of Hermanus, tasted some delicious wines in the Winelands, explored charming small towns, tried local cuisine, hiked Table Mountain, and so much more.

Our travel team planned the trip to perfection.

Our travel agency planned an amazing 13-day 5-star trip for our honeymoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, and Cape Town. Throughout the entire planning process, our Tour Consultant made everything easy and she was always accessible. We definitely plan to use their services again for future trips. We can't thank them enough for making our honeymoon the best trip of our lives. 

All transfers were punctual and friendly. Overall it was a great trip - only two slight negatives:

Accommodation in Swaziland - beehive hut was fine, but with the exception of mountain biking, all the activities required a minimum of 2 or 4 people. I would not suggest sending any single travellers there - I did not get to do either of the two cultural activities (my main reason for going) or even a game drive because no one else signed up for these while I was there.

Maputo accommodation - payment was requested from me on my arrival, even though I had already paid the travel company. The availability and support of the travel company was obvious though, because they addressed the issue quickly.

Thanda was absolutely amazing!!!!!!

My daughter and I spent 4 days at a Sabi Sand safari lodge. We were will pleased with the Lodge and the Wild life viewing . We got great pictures and the food was very good. The travel company did I great job setting it up for us.
