Argentina & Brazil Luxury Travel Review; El Calafate, El Chalten, Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls Boat Ride, Moreno Glacier
We enjoyed our trip very much. After spending 3 days in Buenos Aires on our own, we flew down to El Calafate in Patagonia. Our first day there included a guide who took us to the Perida Moreno glacier which was amazing. It was a spectacular day. We had no plans scheduled for our second day because we were hoping to trek on the glacier but found out there is an age limit for that and we're too old. With little else to do, we took a boat ride to look at the other glaciers. Whereas it was a pleasant day, it was more of the same of what we did the day before. We would have liked to have had a different experience.  From El Calafate, we had a driver pick us up and drive us to El Chalten. This was another incredibly beautiful spot. We hiked there for a day and a half which was plenty. We then flew from Patagonia to the Iguazu Falls. This also was a spectacular experience. We especially enjoyed the boat ride to the falls. You do in fact get a shower.Overall, our guides were great. Everyone spoke English and they were very helpful.

Luxury Argentina Tour: Bariloche, Villa Angostura, El Califate, Nahuel Huapi Lake, San Telmo, Glacier Tour, City Tour

We have just returned from a 2 week luxury tour of Argentina.  Our travel agent was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end!  This was our first visit to South America and while I enjoy researching/creating travel itineraries, I wanted a pro onboard for this trip.  The travel specialist was immediately responsive within hours of posting our needs on Zicasso, a great first impression that only grew over time.  I am very particular and they were extremely patient with my constant fine tuning.  The resulting swing through of Buenos Aires, the lake and glaciers regions of Patagonia, was an amazing intro to this fabulous country. Here are some highlights:

Our hotels - 4 days Buenos Aires,  2 days Barioche, 2 days Villa Angostura, 2 days El Califate and finally back to BA.  All but one hotel are luxury experiences that we highly recommend.  The agent really understood our style.Tour guides - Our tour guides were delightful, curating special experiences outside of the typical.  For example when rainy and windy weather caused us to re-schedule a full day private boat tour of Lake Nahuel Huapi, our guide, took us inland to the "Enchanted Valley"  along the Limay River where we experienced a private riverside lodge for a gourmet lunch preceded by an amazing hike of the surrounding mountains and caves. We could literally see the rain over Bariloche and enjoy perfect weather in the valley  - Our guide is brilliant! Our BA tour guide was equally outstanding.  Booked to guide us through San Telmo, he seemed to understand we might be underwhelmed by the touristic character of the place, he suggested showing us some of the special places he loved about his city.  These included an architectural tour highlighting the most beautiful, private streets in the Ricoleta and Collegial neighbourhoods, we did do San Telmo afterward, but the highlight was lunch at  "Napleos Bar"  whose interior offered the best display of antiques and curiosities we had seen all afternoon.  We went on to have many more fun times with our guide  - a lifelong friendship is born! The Perito Merino glacier tour in El Caliphate was also remarkable, we had originally booked an overnight luxury cruise that was canceled.  This is where it is so great to have a travel agent to help you adjust your plans  - the travel specialist was great, we managed to see all that we wanted to see of the glaciers and enjoy a gourmet lunch on board a first class boat.

To include  - visit Argentina - its sites and most of all its people are extraordinary.  You will be in good hands with the travel specialist and his family of guides!

Review: South America Tour, Argentina & Chile, Santiago, Mendoza, Buenos Aires, Torres del Paine, El Calafate, Atacama Desert

This agency arranged a wonderful trip for us to Argentina and Chile (Buenos Aires, Mendoza, El Calafate, Torres del Paine, Santiago and San Pedro de Atacama).  The itinerary was prepared with our input and budget considerations though a very easy interactive process with their team. The accommodations and tours were as promised and we had a wonderful vacation that included city tours, wine tasting and some more adventurous outings in Patagonia and the Atacama Desert.  I can certainly recommend them for your travel needs without any hesitation.  A big thanks to our travel planners and the rest of the travel team.

Pat & Noel’s Trip to Argentina – Nov. 4 – 20, 2015

...

Our Argentine adventure was a trip of a lifetime for my husband and me, thanks in large part to our travel agents , the owners of this travel company.

We've both traveled extensively but never have we enjoyed ourselves so much without having to concern ourselves with any of the travel logistics.  From start to finish, all trip details were "magically" handled by our agents.  They provided all transfers and boarding passes for in-country flights, and arranged for drivers and private guides to take us to our various excursions.  Our agent even met us at the airport when we first arrived in Buenos Aires and gave us a cell phone to contact her 24/7 should we encounter any problems!

We felt so well taken care of and free to enjoy the personalized itinerary our agent developed for us.  We experienced the lush rainforests and magnificent waterfalls of Iguazu.  We visited a working estancia created by the El Calafate founders and sampled delicious barbecued Argentine beef and lamb there.  We hiked around the spectacular and other-worldly glaciers and mountains of Patagonia and viewed icebergs and glaciers close-up during amazing boating excursions.   We attended an unforgettable tango event, learned how to prepare several wonderful local dishes during a fun private cooking class, and participated in many other fantastic cultural and culinary activities in Buenos Aires and Mendonza.

At every stop, we enjoyed fascinating and often breathtaking excursions led by local experts.  Without exception, these local guides were superb -- extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their areas and very warm and friendly.  Never could we have found such professional and wonderful guides on our own!

All our hotels were perfect for us -- small and luxurious, infused with local history and culture, in great locations.  Probably our favorite was Finca Adalgisa in Mendoza.   Located on a small vineyard, this hotel is stunning and has its own winery.   Our agent made sure to inform the staff that it was my birthday during our stay and we were upgraded to the largest suite, overlooking the vineyard and swimming pool.  On my birthday, our travel agent reserved the best table for us at a wonderful winery -- Ruca Malen -- where we enjoyed a sumptuous 5-course feast with wine pairings.  It was truly fantastic and a culinary highlight of our trip.

On a personal note, our agents are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet – as well as being extremely professional and well-connected in the Argentine tourism industry.  We’re very thankful we entrusted them with our trip planning and arrangements.  We give our agents our highest recommendation.

Travel Agent Review: Argentina & Uruguay Tour, Bariloche, El Calafate, Perito Merino & Upsala Glaciers, Lake Argentino, Chocolate

We were very hesitant to use an online travel agency that we had no familiarity with but went ahead and hired this travel company located In Buenos Aries. The proprietor picked us up at the airport and drove us to our Airbnb with a stop to change money. The 8 day tour was fantastic and the price was reasonable.  We saw Iguazu Falls, Bariloche and El Calafate in Patagonia.  We saw the best of each place, waterfalls, the seven lakes, several boat trips, the Perita Merino and Uppsala Glaciers with fully guided tours and time between outings to spend time in the towns. He arranged all hotels, transfers, guided tours and air travel to each destination and a ferry ride to Uruguay which is no easy task. The hotels were great, especially the hotel in Bariloche which was a bit outside of town but turned out had the best restaurant in town. When we complained about our hotel in Calafate he stepped up to the plate and immediately transferred us to a better hotel. Whenever we had a question or problem our travel planner always responded quickly and solved it. We had a six hour delay from El Calafate to Buenos Aires which meant missing our ferry to Colonia and losing our prepaid non refundable hotel. Not his fault but again he helped us rearrange our schedule and reserved a wonderful hotel a block away from the ferry to Uruguay the next morning. We will definitely employ this travel company for our next trip. Our travel planner is originally from Ireland so communication was always perfect.
