Rome to Amalfi Coast Tours & Vacations

Our trip to Italy was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to experience the Pompeii and Herculaneum excavations with our daughter who has been interested in Pompeii since she was old enough to read. Our travel designer focused on understanding what we wanted out of the trip and made suggestions for additional points of interest. We had a detailed itinerary within a week of beginning the back-and-forth discussion.

The trip itself was effortless and smooth, amazingly with only minor issues arising considering the packed 10-day itinerary. We experienced Pompeii through the eyes of a wonderful guide who knew how to make it come alive. We climbed Mount Vesuvius to gain perspective. We wandered both Herculaneum and Pompeii on our own. We were guided through the Greek and Roman ruins of Paestum and introduced to water buffalo mozzarella on a day trip from Sorrento, which was our "home base" for the first half of our trip. Our hotel room had a wonderful view of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius and was a wonderful place to relax after a day walking around ruins. The second half of the trip included traveling by hydrofoil to the Isle of Ischia and staying in beautiful spa resort, as well as a traveling by hydrofoil to Naples and experiencing the history, cuisine, and culture of the city.

Thanks to this travel agency and our trip designer, our once-in-a-lifetime trip became a fantastic reality. We do not believe it would have even half as wonderful if we had tried planning it ourselves. We highly recommend this company for planning unique trips to Italy, as well as using a travel company in general who has travel designers who take the time to understand what you want and then make it a reality.

The honeymoon of our dreams!!

We cannot thank this travel company enough for planning the trip of our dreams. Our trip planners were such a pleasure to work with. They were extremely responsive and very engaging as we worked out the details of our trip with them.

They didn't leave out a single detail; it was the perfect balance of scheduled events and time to explore on our own.

The company arranged private tours for us which were wonderful!! My husband was very interested in the history of Rome so having a one on one guide was perfect for us!  Our guide was so knowledgeable.  For the first three days of our trip, we spent a few hours each morning with her, doing a walking food and culture tour, a tour of the Colosseum, and of the Vatican. We truly enjoyed the time we spent with, getting a true insight into the magnificence of Rome. She was amazing!!

Then we were off to Pompei !  Our very friendly driver picked us up from the train station in Naples and drove us to an amazing experience.  We had another great tour guide who was so funny and witty that we didn't want the tour to end. We were surprised by a delicious wine tasting and lunch at a winery, with gorgeous views of Mt Vesuvius. What an amazing experience this was, the wine was unlike any wine I had ever tasted, and the food was to die for!

The hotel they booked for us in Positano was beyond gorgeous!!! The views looked like a postcard, we literally couldn't believe our eyes!! Truly breathtaking! We had a phenomenal time in Positano, a lot of free time to explore and shop and eat and drink (and eat).

From Positano we were picked up by our driver, to see Amalfi and Ravello. He was great and thoughtful!  He stopped along the way several time at places he knew to take pictures and suggested a marvelous place for us to have a late lunch. The Chef/Owner let us come back for a tour of the kitchen, and even prepared a meal of his choosing for us!! We had an unforgettable time with them. My husband and I left there that day feeling like we made true friends and were so delighted.   

Then we were off to Sorrento !! We noticed on our itinerary that we had a limoncello, cheese, and pizza making experience. We had no idea what a treat we were in for! We were greeted by a hilariously funny tour guide who took us through lemon and olive groves, tasted some of the most delicious olive oils, and we learned how they made different cheeses and happily sampled them!! Then, we walked through the village to the family owned restaurant where we all made our own pizza. So fun!

Our last day was spent in beautiful Capri. We took an hour-long boat tour around the island which I highly recommend!  Although the blue grotto was closed for the day, we still explored, shopped, and had lunch overlooking the crystal blue water at a beautiful restaurant which was amazing.    

We can't thank this travel company enough for the whole experience. They truly made our honeymoon unforgettable!! We cannot wait to plan our next trip with them!!

We had a fantastic trip that exceeded our expectations. We had an excellent trip planned with Marilisa and she was open to our ideas and to our requested changes and implemented them quickly and got back to us with the confirmation that it was done. The travel arrangements at the airports and daily for tours and excursions were always on time and with great drivers who were helpful and had fun conversations about where we were going and in-depth history. Their skills in driving the vans along the Amalfi coast was amazing and we were all so glad that we were in the hands of expert drivers on these extremely tight and curvy congested roads. Each tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area we went to. More commentary on the tour guides below.The hotels that were provided were great for the two groups. Each one had a good reason why they chose them. In Naples it was right in the center of the old town beaming with life and restaurants. The hotel had a fantastic breakfast room and a great bar service in the afternoon. The rooms were ok, nothing special.The hotel in Vietri sul Mare was a gem. Great location, great views of the ocean, friendly and helpful staff and had some great restaurants nearby. The hotel in Palermo was also right in the middle of the city center with great restaurants in walking distance, but the rooms were just ok, and the breakfast area was very tight to move around. The Resort in Taormina was fantastic also. Same owner as the hotel in Vietri sul Mare. Great location on the beach, easy to get to downtown Taormina. A great bar cafe on the beach and the breakfast area was overlooking the beach. A great place to spend our two free days at the end of the trip. The hotel in Naples was also beautiful for our last night, but we didn't get to use it much as it was the last night before flying home. Our only real disappointment was the first transportation of the trip from Naples airport to the hotel. The driver seemed to be in a hurry when getting us to the hotel. He didn't know the area very well and said he couldn't get any closer to the hotel due to the small roads. He pointed up the road and said it should be up there. We all had two bags to drag around while searching for the hotel. Luckily, we had our phones to use. He wasn't even on the right street, and we had to walk around to find it. The next morning our driver was right outside the hotel, so there was no problem with the road.
