Review: Anniversary Vacation in Greece, Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Crete, Delos, Knossos Palace, Acropolis Tour, Catamaran Cruise

We booked a 2 week vacation to Greece with this agent and travel company for the end of May.   Our travel agent helped us plan the perfect vacation for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was the most incredible trip, more than we could ever have imagined! She planned accommodations, excursions and tours at each place we visited that highlighted each place.  We started our trip in Athens for 3 nights, Crete 3 nights, Mykonos 3 nights and Santorini for 4 nights.

We were met promptly at the Athens airport by our driver taken to our Hotel in Athens where we were met by our agent personally to give us all of our tickets and instructions for our stay in Greece. As well she gave us a cell phone programmed with her number and the travel agency in case we had any issues during our time in Greece.

We stayed at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens at a wonderful boutique hotel. Our trip started with a private tour(highly recommend)  of the Archeological museum of Athens ,the Acropolis and the area surrounding. Truly specials and unforgettable! A romantic dinner at a beautiful restaurant in the center of Athens.  Watching the sun set on the Acropolis with all of Athens at our feet...stunning. A free day to explore a bit of the ancient and beautiful city then onto Crete.

We were met by a delightful young man, who was our guide for all 3 days on this amazing island. Wine tours, Palace of King Mynos at Knossos, ancient cities Rhethmynon and Chania, beautiful beaches and stunning views. We fell in love with Crete.

Then Mykonos. A beautiful little jewel of an island with beautiful beaches and ancient cities once attacked by pirates. A romantic dinner, tour of the island of Delos (incredible!) and getting lost in the maze of streets that make up Mykonos town.

Then onto Santorini. A jewel in the beauty of the Aegean Sea. Stunning hotel on the cliffs with a view that you never tired of, wine tours, a full day Catamaran sail to beaches and the Caldera ending with a magnificent sunset at Land's End. Santorini was the cherry on top of the trip. Truly a stunning island.

And everywhere we went the friendly, hospitable and welcoming Greek people.  We can't say enough on how well orchestrated this trip was. We had flawless connections, over-the-top accommodations, incredible guides, amazing excursions that did not disappoint at any of our island visits.  "More than we could have ever imagined" is how we describe this trip to friends and family.  We highly recommend this company and the travel agent who planned a trip exactly to fit us personally.

Thank you Zicasso for your stellar travel agents and fantastic job of Jackie who paired us up with such great agents to choose from.

Greece Family Travel Review: Athens, Mykonos, Rhenia, Delos, Chora, Santorini, Akrotiri, Sunset Cruise, Ferry Ride
We had a wonderful trip to Greece! My husband, two daughters and mom really enjoyed the trip that Anthony created for us with the travel agency. We explored Athens and had the best tour guide at the Parthenon that Anthony introduced us to. She was very knowledgable and kept my two teenage daughters very engaged.  Our next stop was Mykonos, and we loved this island. We took an amazing day trip to Rhenia and played on a boat, the explored the ancient city of Delos.  Anthony partnered us with a travel consultant while on this island and she was fantastic. She had such a fun personality and gave outstanding advice on places to dine and how to get around the island.  The beaches were beautiful and we loved shoping in Chora!  Anthony booked us on the ferry to Santorini and this was a fun adventure! We had great seats and found that the times flew by.  Once in Santorini we were picked up by our guide who gave us a great tour of the island that included a stop in a small village that was very beautiful.  We then toured Akrotiri and LOVED it! (That may have been my favorite).  Our hotel in Santorini was out of a dream. We had our own pool and a beautiful view of the Aegan Sea. We ended our Greece trip with a sunset cruise around Santorini that was just amazing. The accomodations were excellent and I love that I never had to worry about getting picked up or what to do on each island. I loved that each location had a new point of contact that was available for questions that I had.  All of our guides were very personable and knowledgable and went above and beyond to ensure that my family had an amazing trip.

Luxury Greece Honeymoon Tour Review: Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Akrotiri, Fira, Oia, sunset dinner cruise, volcano, hot springs
We spent 8 days visiting Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. We stayed at the King George in Athens, which was wonderful. The room was absolutely beautiful (we were told we'd been upgraded when we checked in), the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts on the roof were simply amazing: amazing food and amazing views. If I'd know how amazing the breakfast was going to be, I would have got up early my first day just to spend more time eating breakfast (and I hate getting up in the morning)! I would highly recommend this hotel. The Grand Beach Hotel in Mykonos had a very nice looking swimming pool, but otherwise the hotel was not at the same standard as our hotels in Athens and Santorini: (1) my wife and I were booked into a room with two single beds and had to pay 80 Euros in cash to get "upgraded" to a room with a king bed (this Greece travel agency immediately refunded us the 80 Euros via a credit to our Visa card), (2) the service in the hotel was indifferent, (3) the breakfasts were mediocre, (4) and the rooms were dark and cavernous (tile floors, not much natural light, and no interior decoration -- especially compared to the King George which had a wonderfully decorated room). The Grand Beach Hotel just didn't seem interested in being anything more than an okay hotel. And, it was a good 15 minute walk from the town. It looked like there might have been some small boutique hotels in Mykonos City that could have been more fun to stay at. The Majestic Hotel was nice. Not as extremely nice as the King George, but quite nice enough. The service was good, the breakfasts were nice, the room was very comfortable, the pool was nice. We had a great time in Santorini: took a sunset dinner cruise to the volcano and the hot springs, rented a car and drove around the island, visited Akrotiri, had dinner in Fira and Oia, and lounged around the hotel. Santorini seems to have been created for people to vacation on! The transfers all worked very smoothly. The dock for the hydrofoil in Mykonos was disorganized (no one in control, no signage, and so many tourists from China), but we found our way through the confusion and onto the right boat. Some ferries had been cancelled, which might have accounted for some of the disorganization. Fortunately, this travel agency had already reworked our schedule and made sure we were on a ferry which was still running.

Luxury Greece Trip Review: Crete, Santorini, Athens, Catamaran Sunset Cruise, Acropolis, Botanical Gardens, Changing of the Guard
Traveled to several locations on Crete, Santorini, and Athens Greece having use this Travel Agency working with Dimitrios.Dimitrios was very helpful and responsive to my emails and calls and worked to understand the type of trip I was looking to put together. From the type and location of hotel properties, to the type of tour activities, he stuck with me through the process to make the trip - exactly what we wanted. And he even met up with us in Athens over lunch. As for the trip itself - many companies encouraged Santorini, Mykonos and Athens. I can not say enough about Crete - except that I wish I had more time there. If you can spend the time - Crete is a far superior destination to many of the smaller island - and should not be missed. We were in Santorini near the end of 'the season' - and we truly enjoyed missing the crowds. We got to relax and sit and enjoy. And of course the feel of the island - and the sunsets are - just as 'advertised'. Oh - and I thought the whole Catamaran Sunset Cruise thing was going to be a little 'touristy' but it was truly a great experience. Great to get in the water. Great to see the island from another perspective. Great staff and great food. (Have I overused the word Great?.... No. It was.)Athens - it turns out - is more than just the Acropolis. We truly enjoyed the Botanical Gardens, Changing of the Guard, walking down streets to find a hidden gem of a cafe or shop. And the people of Athens (Greeks and visitors both) were wonderful. We do wish we had more time - on Crete and to see more of the mainland as there are so many other places we did not have time to get to.... But we will come back.Great trip. Thank you travel company. Thank you Dimitrios. Thank you to the people of Greece!!

Luxury Greece Vacation Review: Crete, Santorini, Naxos, Athens, Hiking, Catamaran Cruise, Archaeological Sites, 12-Day Tour
We had a very enjoyable trip to Greece - Crete, Santorini, Naxos and Athens! The places that we visited were diverse and very interesting - 1) Crete: hiking the Imbros gorge, visits to special restaurants (slow-cooking, small village) and Knossos Minoan site; 2) Santorini: Catamaran cruise and tour around the picturesque island; 3) villages in the diverse and beautiful Naxos - ceramic pottery studio, village in the mountain, lovely beaches, kouri statues for the classical era; and 4) Athens - the unique Acropolis and other archaeological sites (Ancient Agora, Temple of Zeus....), Delphi and walking around the Plaka and other areas. Our guides were knowledgeable and very nice. Our travel planner worked with us to put together a special trip with great suggestions.  We had interesting tours and great food in the restaurants on our tour. There was a misunderstanding in what our highest priority was  - that is the Acropolis and other archaeological sites (which should have been given more time and focus, since we were on a private tour). There was also some minor misunderstandings between our travel agency and the contract guides as to the contents of specific tour.

Greece Luxury Travel Review: Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, History, Cuisine, Wine, Catamaran Trip, 12 Nights

Our Zicasso travel agent and her company were fantastic! We wanted to work with someone who knew Greece and had excellent travel partners to guide us in creating our itinerary. We visited Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete. Our agent helped us plan a fabulous vacation and was available during the trip to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Throughout the planning process, she provided details about tours and hotels. She recommended wonderful hotels that were located in great areas in each of the cities and was clear with the pricing as we decided to upgrade our room types/amenities (no hidden pricing). We loved that she shared her travel expertise and feedback from other travelers in helping us.

She recommended tours for our vacation. The tour guides were excellent (they clearly love what they do) and we loved all of our tours. She also assisted us with dinner reservations, flights, ferries, and transfers. The view from the restaurant in Athens was amazing!

In Athens, we had a private tour of the Acropolis and Plaka, and visited beautiful Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. We loved our five-hour catamaran trips in Mykonos and Santorini. They were perfect ways to see the beauty of both islands, swim, and connect with other travelers.

In Santorini, we had a private six-hour tour with a fantastic guide and learned so much about the island, visiting so many beautiful sights, including Oia, avoiding crowds, capturing fabulous family photos of the blue-domed churches, tasting wine overlooking the beautiful caldera, and so much more. We loved our sunset food tour along the caldera footpath, tasting so many different local foods, wines, and beer. Our guide was charming and fun.

Crete was beautiful and we visited a nearby beach for swimming, dined at a quaint local restaurant with excellent grilled fish after swimming, and enjoyed a sunset tour of the old town in Chania. We even learned a little Greek. We enjoyed everything about our trip – the food, the people/guides, the beautiful places, and the history.

Our agent created a full travel itinerary that we could access on our phones throughout the trip. When something was updated (one boat had a technical problem and our agent booked us an alternative; our gate changed at the airport), we received an alert. I used that itinerary each day to review what we were doing and ensure we were meeting our transfers or tour guides at the correct time. It was very helpful for planning and packing tips too.

Our agent connected with us through WhatsApp during the planning process and the trip, which was very convenient.

We are incredibly grateful to her and her team for their dedication to creating a fantastic family experience with lots of wonderful memories. We hope to visit Greece again and will definitely contact our agent for vacation planning.
